ELECTRONOOBS YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY MAKE A VIDEO EXPLAINING HOW TO BUILD A CIRCUIT, CODE, APP AND ZERO CROSSING CIRCUIT WHICH CAN CONTROL AT LEAST 5 AC LIGHT BULBS AND BE ABLE TO NOT ONLY TURN THEM ON/OFF BUT DIM EACH ONE OF THEM SEPARATELY VIA BLUETOOTH HC-06 AND ANDROID APP. First timer here and I have a question: Is there a way to take this code and turn the LED's into a wave or flash between each color?
@ELECTRONOOBS7 жыл бұрын
Of course. Just change the PWM values. Create some sort of loop that should wave the colors!

Great, I made your project and it works very well. Thank you very much.But can you add an auto changing color besides the bluetooth control in your code? for example when you connect the project to 12V DC it begins blinking or changing the colors while waiting the smartphone control, thats all.

Vibhore Jain to control brightness is better to use bjt due to its current control!
@jainvibhore19977 жыл бұрын
Ohh I suggested that because as far as I know the on resistance of a mosfet is in the range of miliohms which is lesser than on resistance of transistors but ohh well if it does not heats up then no issues at all
@jonahswain7 жыл бұрын
Vibhore Jain you are correct; N channel MOSFETs would be better than BJTs for this because of their low drain to source resistance. BJTs would be better in linear mode if the arduino had analog outputs.

It's easy. Similar mechanisms. In the MIT App Inventor you can get real time audio with the Realtime spanish extension. Send that data through Bluetooth client to the Arduino and the led strip's brightness can be controlled with that data.

Linas Kulvietis yes when you send data of the connection works the Rx and TX LEDs fron the Arduino should blink for a fraction of time. if they don't the Arduino doesn't receive the data. also what schematic did you use? NPN or PNP? I recommend the NPN for less problems!

HI, i've got a problem in my circuit i think... The led strip is blinking when i set it to White or disconect, then i tried an auto-changing color code and the led strip is perma-blinking. I'm using BD681 transistor and chinese "1k" resistences
@ELECTRONOOBS7 жыл бұрын
The problem is just with the white color? If yes it could be a power problem. At white color all LEDs are ON and there is a maximum current draw. Maybe that resets your arduino or is not enough. Make sure that your PS can deliver more than 1.5A of current atr 12V. Case1: to much current draw resets the Arduino: I recommend you to add a 16V 100uF or more between GND and the main input or Vin of the arduino. That will remove noise and prevent the micro to restart at full current draw. Case2: Pins and circuit: Also make sure that the circuit is OK and that the used pins are defined as OUTPUT. Case3: Main 12V input has 1.5A or more Case4: Tne transistors are OK? If you use the BD681 you should use the NPN schematic and you will have a max brightness with 255 PWM and OFF with 0 PWM. Make sure that the BJT are not burned and try using new ones. ALWAYS try your circuit on a breadboard till you are sure it is OK. I hope this will solve the problem. I'm sure that the code is OK because it works for me so it must be a problem of power, circuit or components.
@davidlujanpastor7 жыл бұрын
ELECTRONOOBS Thank you!! I will try this ASAP. My PS gives 12v 3A. And I think the arduino it's not getting reset because the color still changes(automatic Code), it just blinks... so I will check again the circuit and change transistors and resistors
@cool09shubham7 жыл бұрын
I made it today. but there's a problem...in your schematic you have shown to link 1k resistor to base...and When I tried it doesnt worked...but in this video resistors is connected to emitter, ground to base, and collector to LED...by doing this it worked and its changing colors but after switiching OFF the arduino the LED starts glowing white...and even setting pwn signal to zero it glows...what to do??? NEED HELP...and every LED(r,g,b) is always glowing even changing to solid single color.
@ELECTRONOOBS7 жыл бұрын
In my schematic resistor is connected to the base wich for BD681 NPN is the 3rd pin as you can se here 04:53 Then the emitter, which is pin 1, is connected to ground and the colector, pin2, is connected to the RGB led strip pins. If whan turn off the arduino they glow white that means that you've connected wrong the base and all the 3 colors are ON. Be careful, if you use the PNP BD140 transistor to turn the led OFFuse 255 signal and 0 to turn ON. Connect the transistor as shown in the schematic in the description! For the PNP schematic use the PNP code and for the NPN schematic use the NPN code. Keep up!
@cool09shubham7 жыл бұрын
yes I have connected the same way you have mentioned...but when I press for off it glows with medium brightness...it's never completely OFF...is there problem with the BD140 transistor or anything else...either just selecting single color(like red) , red glows at full brightness and other two at medium....
@ELECTRONOOBS7 жыл бұрын
Shubham Sharma try better the NPN transistors. I hope it will work better. it's clearly that even when your circuit is off your PNP is still feeding some current to the LEDs so maybe NPN would be better for you
@cool09shubham7 жыл бұрын
ELECTRONOOBS it worked finally...changed the transistor with TIP31...Now working like a charm...thank You...but I was thinking how to make it blink synced with music???
@ELECTRONOOBS7 жыл бұрын
Shubham Sharma one way would be to connect the music output to an OPAM and the opam output to one of the analog inputs of the Arduino and map the voltage to be always between 0 and 5
@taruntyagi73937 жыл бұрын
Hi. If I write exactly the same code as yours it says 'color' was not declared in this scope. As per my knowledge of C, we need to declare the datatype of a variable too which we've not done in this case. Your code is working, but my code isn't.
@ELECTRONOOBS7 жыл бұрын
Sorry, there was an error when I've uploaded the code. Just change the type of "color" from int to char. I've changed the code here: www.electronoobs.com/eng_arduino_tut13_code1.php just copy and compile!
@taruntyagi73937 жыл бұрын
The code's uploading without errors now. But the system's not working. On the serial monitor just the blue, cyan and yellow tiles are producing a horizontally inverted question mark, no other colors are producing any response. The connections are right.
@ELECTRONOOBS7 жыл бұрын
Make sure that on the serial monitor you have the 9600 baud rate selected, if isn't that, well I don't know, it should work.
