Be careful if u take it off road! Toyota finally gave the taco enough torque to be useful but they forgot to upgrade the drive train! Transfer case seems to snap pretty easy.

At the dealership I work, all of our Toyota products come in around 40-55psi in the tires. That's just for shipping purposes. Normally if you went down the whole prep route they'd take the window sticker, stock tag, and other plastics out and then drop the tires to 35 psi* with a complementary detail. What you should look into is to add an extended USB type C cable from your screen down to your glove compartment. Maybe even add a 2 tb 2.5'' SSD so that you have plenty of things on it to see either in the car or somewhere else. Just a thought.

I just finished a 3000 mile trip from MI to North Florida in my 2021 GMC Sierra Elevation 5.3 V-8 and got 23 mpg! Loved my old Tundras but couldn’t get more than 18 mpg under any conditions. No way I’m downsizing to get less than 20 mpg, especially a smaller truck. Doesn’t make sense.

I know that is all you hear about is gear hunting on the 3rd gen. But I have about 80,000 miles on my 21 TRD Off Road, I have 17 inch wheels on it and it is a 6 foot bed. Most of my miles are on the expressway with the cruise set at 75, the only time it will drop out of 6th gear is if I am heading into a strong wind or I hit a good size hill, but it will hold 5th then I get over the hill and it goes right back to 6th and stays there. I also get 20-22 on the highway at 75.

My 2023 Tacoma TRD OR shows 378 miles of range when I fill up the tank. I’m averaging 22.3mpg, right after filling up and jumping on the freeway I think it got up to 28mpg. I also drive like a Grandpa since gas is $4.17/gallon at Sam’s Club and I don’t want to spend $78 every fill up.

Toyota manual break-in for the first 600 miles states to stay at or under 55mph, don't maintain the same speed for periods of time, don't idle for long periods of time, no hard braking. These were in previous units of course. Today's 2024 vehicles might have different break-in times. Like mentioned, I wasn't being negative towards you 😉😎

Did I read the door sticker at 545 kg payload which includes people and payload? Long long time Toyota truck owner going back to the 83’ model, all have been awesome and only one was purchased new.

For Toyota & many other manufacturers. On a PDI “Pre Delivery Inspection” we set the tire PSI double filled, this is due to the vehicles sitting around for a while before arriving to a dealership for sale, and that the tires will not develop any flat spots. However the dealership should have set that for you, took plastic wraps off, programmed clock, put in floor mats etc. prepped it basically

Bought a new highlander quite a few ago , at about 34000 mi. All four tires worn to tire fiber. All driving was freeway (good roads ) all next new Toyotas I bought before I left the dealers I requested alignment check to be done, everyone were out of alignment from factory (3 new vehicles)

Dark color are not my preference, but the underground is a nice color! Even though I already have a truck, I still have a soft spot for all things Tacoma. We are in FEB and these things are not packing Toyota dealership yet---crazy!

I don't misd the 3rd generation transmission shift points. Absolutely awful. I ended up selling it. Wanted to love the truck, but couldn't get over the shifting. Didn't want to have to buy mods to remap the shift points. Great to hear the 4th gen is better!

Many people don’t understand the 3rd gen Taco. Cruise control only works on flats and downhill, other than that it going to rev super high. Also, using shift mode and locking it in 4/5th gear will help with MPG when going up hill since you are holding your RPM better. But ofc most people ain’t going to be shifting gears in an auto. Manage to get 21mpg on stock Taco trd pro going 70mph

I absolutely LOVE the design of these new Tacomas. What a great looking truck. Toyota is going to sell so many of those things. And if that hybrid system turns out to be as reliable long-term as their other hybrid cars, I just might trade up and grab one in a few years. I’d rly like to see how they hold up to real world truck use. I’ve got a good feeling about it because my sisters Gen 2 Prius has been absolutely bulletproof and that girl doesn’t but abuse that car. The only maintenance that car has ever seen is the stuff that my father or I have done it truly blows my mind that car is still running reliably for her with well over 150,000 miles and nearly zero maintenance. So I’ve got a lot of faith in Toyota hybrid systems. Rly hoping their hybrid system, for the Tacoma is as reliable as their other ones.

The fuel economy page should show you all your MPG history. I guess we need a few rollover accidents due to improper tire inflation for dealerships to focus on PDI's. I even mentioned this to my salesperson and they didn't check them. You can tell just by looking at them because the side treads probably weren't even hitting the ground. Tires are overinflated so they don't flat spot the tires when strapped down on the car carrier. I check my pressures at every oil change too. Service often turns your DRL's/Auto headlights which is annoying if you miss it. I never had a problem with my 3G cruise control, I left it in S though. Even with ECT on it only lost 1MPG. I had spacers and meaty tires though. Today's digital dashboards are just too cluttered these days. I sure hope they put that main infotainment sidebar in ALL of the Toyotas with updates!

Don’t stress the new Yacoma out too much off road. TFL had a catastrophic failure in the 4WD system with less than 4K mi. Use the 4R for off roading. If the Tacoma does break you can always play with the multimedia screen.

I've driven a 01' Tacoma and a 22' Tacoma as well as numerous other vehicles. The only thing I don't like about the tacoma is it feels like a much smaller vehicle than it actually is. Both Tacomas were manual and drived EXACTLY like my personal 07' Mustang GT, but the shifter felt like my old 97' Mustang v6. Seating position and everything was like my 07' Mustang GT. It's such a weird combination of a vehicle. This 2024 seems much closer to the Tundra and more like an actual truck though.
