Man, I'm feeling the winter sun on its way! Much more shading now, less sun in the day :( I'll miss the summer solar hours and much less shading!

@@AskIveSolar yeah, it would be AWESOME to have the same amount of solar in the winter so I could try to run some heaters off solar.

It looks like those panels need to be cleaned off; there appeared to be a lot of dust on them. You might also put a brick under the near corners of the panels to give them a little better sun angle, and maybe improve ventilation under them. The cooler weather that is approaching will encourage me to adjust my setups as well. I will have a lot more time too, as I will be retiring this coming Thursday.

Congrats on the retirement!! I was just commenting on sleepers comment. Cleaning panels rarely gives me much power. The water moreso is what gives the boost, not the clean. I mean. Don't get me wrong, these were filthy but thebner gain is rarely worth it for me.

I have a 4.8 kw solar system on my house, in 6.5 yrs its made over 38million watts, i have zero complaints,only maintenance ive done is wash my panels 2 times a yr. As far as backup, i have a 5500w continuous gas generator and 2 Titan 3000w solar generators, w 10kwh in battery from PointZeroEnergy. Im happy with my choices so far, if i wanted anything else it would be a new 240v 4000w SP unit from Point Zero Energy

Man, you sitting nice over there!!! On yesterday, I just went to my breaker box and turned it off and everything that mattered kept working because I have zones that are powered by power stations. It was a fantastic feeling.

I use a self made 50 amp suicide cable from the TT30 amp plug on the Titan, to the 50 amp plug on the dryer outlet

Nice video. Why do you have the open mc4? Amen I missing something?
@AskIveSolar
@AskIveSolar 3 ай бұрын
I'm not sure I follow. But I had them open to measure voltage. And earlier I had them open just to show that I was done connecting the rest of the panels with the exception of the last two which connected to the extension cables.

Have you tried using the DC adapter to take in more solar?

Interesting. I forgot about it. Never gave it any thought tbh. Hmmm. Would an extra 500 help me? Shoot, I would have to put it back in the basement lol

@@AskIveSolar I get it. It’s one of the reasons my power stations don’t see day to day action. The juggling 🤹 act it would require isn’t doable with my schedule. Not to mention the panel dilemma. Decisions, decisions.

Another Huge Con is the shade problem
@AskIveSolar
@AskIveSolar 3 ай бұрын
Yeah thats what I was hinting at with regards to winter but youre right, shade from that big tree is always an issue. It wasnt as much of a problem when it was two separate arrays but now that its one in series, its something to contend with.

So true if your panel where were clean you would get so much more power .
@AskIveSolar

Clean panels giving more power is a myth. Lol. I clean them somewhat frequently and what usually gives the boost is the water, not them being cleaned.

Why don't you use a 5000-watt air conditioner? It uses around 350 watts when running.
@AskIveSolar

I doubt it would work for my space and this one was given to us.I thought about upgrading it to something more efficient like a midea fancy one but if it ain't broke....why spend money. Yanno

@@AskIveSolar, The newer ones use the least energy. I run a 5000-watt air conditioner in a room all day to keep it cool, and it uses the least energy. It would be a nice experiment.
