Most of my TV's are Tacks and they have settings to make them darker and put them in power save mode. They use about 50 watts in that mode. I have not done a watt hour test on it but I can with the tv. I'd suspect it would last for about 7 hours maybe at 50 watts. Considering a 20% cut from the watt hours for inefficiency Most TV's use about 80 to 10p watts before you mess with any settings. So that plus a 30 watt USB light (which seems high) would maybe get 3.5 hours.

I'd be curious how much one of the all-in-one washer/dryer combos (that use a heat pump to dry the clothes) would use? It claims to use 535Kwh/yr, and it does run off a 120v, 15-amp circuit. It's way more than what you saw, with a gas dryer, I'm sure, but could probably run off a beefy power station or a sizable inverter that puts out a clean 120 volts.

This is kind of an example of why I'm not fond of the medium-small (700w-1200w inverter) class of power stations, there's just too much random crap they don't work with. Either go small (300-600w, which is enough for low draw devices and minimizes inverter idle draw) or go big (1800w, which is 15A 120v AC which means it's similar to what you can expect out of a singular common household circuit)

Fyi 110v-120v is with in the national electric code for rms line voltage. All appliances sold in North America are required to operate normally on that voltage range. The startup current needed by those motors is more than those power stations can handle, by a long shot. If I had to guess, your washer doesn't run the motor continuously either, but turns it on and off rather than using a mechanical offset to oscillate back and forth; that's why its power numbers kept fluctuating so much. Our washer is old-school mechanical, so either of my two larger stations or my Licitti box should be able to run it. The dryer is electric, so no dice; we'd be using the sun to dry our clothes, without the efficiency losses of going through a power station. Our great-grandmothers did it that way their whole lives, so I know it works.
@AskIveSolar

The issue is that's no better than what I get with power stations. I have one now that can do 150 but maxes at 750 watts on 12v. So even if I put 3 panels in series, it's limiting them to 750 which is not bad honestly but not quite an improvement. Imagine a 2s2p with 300 watt panels. That's 1200 watts limited to 750. Even a thousand would be a better limitation when you consider the 20 percent inefficiency of panels. 1200 minutes 240 would be 980. So I'd be throwing away 260 watts. No bueno.
@OnusBones
@OnusBones 16 күн бұрын
@@AskIveSolar The problem you're solving here is voltage though, not current. Give your power stations all they can digest, but you have so many panels now you can put the extra ones in series (up to that 150V) to feed a charge controller.

You can buffer the panels through some discrete gear before pushing it into the power station. Basically like this: * Victron SmartSolar 150/35 (or the smaller 100/20). The 150/35 has a 150VDC solar voltage limit and the 100/20 has a 100VDC solar voltage limit. I recommend the 150/35. * 50Ah or 100Ah 25.6V LiFePO4 battery. Solar -> Victron -> 25.6V battery -> (25A fusing) -> Power station(s). There will be some losses given the extra DC conversions, but it's a decent solution if you want to continue using power stations. The solar will charge the battery and the battery will then trickle-charge the power station. You can use 10 AWG cabling for almost all of it, but if you fan-out from the battery you'll want a decent 100A or 200A bus-bar and 2 AWG or 4 AWG cabling from the battery to the bus-bar. Generally speaking you don't want to connect the Victron directly to the power station, you have to buffer it through a LifePO4 battery. Usually a 12.8V or 25.6V LiFePO4 battery. 25.6V usually works better (as long as the power station can take 30VDC on its solar input). Use the bluetooth app to configure the Victron. Features: * The solar can keep charging the battery even with the power stations disconnected. * You can connect the battery to multiple power stations simultaneously (since the battery can put out a lot of amps in aggregate). -Matt

I have a charge controller as well but haven't hooked it up yet because it doesn't really save me that much. It has 150v but it maxes at 750 watts in which is aight but kinda weak. Maybe 3 panels combined. I would want to do a 2s2p but that's 1200 watts on paper so it's over doing it. If it could do 1200 or even 1000 at 150v, I would have hooked it up a long time ago.
