I've had a bluetti eb3a for longer than a year, and I've loved it. I also bought solar panels, twice what it says it needs, wired in parallel, so it always has enough amps to pull, even when it's cloudy. I use it to charge lipos when I'm camping and to quickly discharge lipos anytime I want. If I crash and have to stop flying early, I also need to lower some lipos to storage voltage, and the bluetti can discharge as fast as a drone. Just don't over discharge.

love it! this is the best review I've seen. I'm currently in the process of deciding on a power station. Bluetti is on the top of my list

have you recogniced that we now what ? yes, a fpv university - I checked today the subs of Pavels channel who had been a bit ahead in the past years and wanted to stay ahead but he seems to have lost track and has just 42.500 subs. But he must have renamed his whole universe to FPV university. Really funny to see we have now a university - but I prefer the mad ness here instead of going to the university again.

Thanks for the review. I'm pretty annoyed with Bluetti though. I have a faulty unit, which reports low battery when powering a 600W travel kettle for a very short time, even though the battery capacity is fine (internal resistance issue?). I bought it new and sealed from eBay and by the time they'd admitted it was faulty the eBay return window had closed and they refused to help as I hadn't bought it directly from them. It doesn't cope with the start-up surge of a freezer which only consumes 70W continuously either - you get the overload indicator lighting for that. If drawing a lot of power, does the pitch of the fans drop significantly? (You will notice the pitch rise when the load is disconnected, for the short time before the fans stop.)

Hi Matthew, The kettle thing is odd, what model is it you have as 600w on AC is not going to give you long tbh but the capacity should drop. On the fridge if it’s mains I’m not surprised it’s tripping out. If it’s a compressor based fridge it will draw massively more on startup than on running power. While the rating may be 70w the start up current to get the compressor going will be massive. Believe it or not but I’m actually a trained refrigeration engineer and have spent years working on R134 and R600 systems and know this issue in side out. Tbh your going to need a massive inverter potently 2000w+ to handle the startup current on a Pot(compressor).

@@MadRC Thanks for the quick reply! Nothing odd about the kettle - just a big Cookworks resistor and I have confirmed that it's consuming what the display says. There is no excuse at all for dying at 600W (see GetawayGeese's review where he boils about 8 kettles-full) and I do wonder if the cells' internal resistance is higher than they had allowed for in their firmware. Seems to be temperature-dependent, getting worse over the winter. Unfortunately the BMS is buried down the side of the glued-in cells so I can't even see what chip(s) it's using and haven't tried to decode the communications between it and the controller. Could it be telling the controller that the battery has a fault or could it just be reporting voltage? I assume it's some sort of serial signal. I don't think the voltage is being measured elsewhere. I wonder if anyone else has measured it under load? As for compressor startup, yes, I could have just been optimistic. My freezer is A+ rated and has a conventional compressor whereas the fridge is A++ and sounds as if it might actually have an inverter drive, which I assume wouldn't hammer it so hard on startup.

Update: managed to get the cells and BMS out of the base, giving me access to all points on the chain of 7 sets of 6 paralleled cells, and balanced them, which does seem to have improved things.

how many 6s 1550mah lipos will it charge on a full charge?

Thats around 33ah for 22v batteries. So probably around 15 charges.

Well if you connect it to the mains via its charger, and switch on the AC inverter, you'll be able to get at a guess a bit over 150W continuously without discharging the battery, which will take over if the mains fails. Significant inefficiency in that application.

7.5 kg sounds a tad too heavy to charge your laptop, what the hell are people using that for? Double conversion from DC to AC and back will eat into efficiency when using that for charging, not to mention having to use heavier AC-powered charger. And most AC lipo chargers builtin supplies are a fraction of their max DC power, so you're losing charging speed as well, as opposed to plugging a field charging battery directly into a DC lipo charger. What sort of travelling allows you to haul extra 7.5kg and doesn't provide access to either AC outlets or car DC jacks?
