You can find videos about individual works of the compilation, but barely any about the entire thing. Thank you for this video

What a wonderful exploration of not just the compilation, but your own personal feelings on 7. I personally feel that FF7 is fantastic but not really as a game, the combat just feels too sluggish especially if you go back to the SNES era and how fast it feels and even in its future with the parts of it in XIII. The story however is still fantastic and each character is extremely memorable.

This is definitely the best video on the FF7 compilation I’ve seen. You actually engage with the material sincerely instead of repeating the same old memes everyone else brings up

I feel like what the compilation needs is a strong beginning and end to it. A prequel that shows us more about the planet, the Lifestream and JENOVA and more on the evolution of Shinra as well as the Cetra would be a great way to establish lore for a first chronological entry to the franchise. For a closer, it would be cool if the final entry into the compilation was a sequel to Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VII - 2. If Final Fantasy X got a sequel and XIII got two, VII absolutely deserves one. I don't know what it would involve narratively, but something where the stakes are much higher and the characters involved are more important than Dirge is all that I really need and I hope that what it does is tie into the 500 years later post credits sequence that we see in VII and gives us more context into what exactly happened there. I never thought about it before, but I think the kids laughing at the end of that scene is confirmation of humanity surviving and being able to prosper and coexist with nature in happiness.

This video was amazing and needs more comments on it.

When people take an issue with compliations I guess the crux is less about what is in them and rather how they end up telling it. For a genuine dudebro like Zack he gets grouped with pretty undercooked side-characters which kinda hinder his story. A novel, the crucial part which had made Kadaj in Advent Children far more bearable character exist in separate mediums even if Kadaj's backstory could have been told within the movie alongside Cloud's more personal issues. I believe there had been many flashy battle sequences which could have been cut from the movie and give room for those serene parts to give the rest of the action some gravitas.

3:31 "If only I were SOLDIER". Oh, how I miss when they used to say it like that and not "a" SOLDIER.😭
I hope the trilogy fully embraces the compilation as you have explored it as well and have come to appreciate it while many out there despise it and want it erased from existence. The compilation has many chapters that set the stage of the story into a wide universe with so many characters and stories that are happening. I hope we see a brighter finish for the Trilogy as to me it seems to be a sequel to the compilation. The one game in the compilation that really needs attention is Before Crisis, it will be coming to Ever Crisis but that will not do it justice. It deserves a full fledged remake and since it was a cell phone game I'm sure many parts were cut because of the platform it was on. We don't get the backstories of all the player turks which is essential to connecting with characters. Everyone says Shotgun is the canon player Turk mainly because that is the only fan translated digital showing of the game in its original form. There are a number of turks you can play as at the beginning and as you move through the game the group gets bigger until you have 10 turks not counting Legend who comes back and has his own episode later. The game itself if they fleshed it out could potentially have about 32 chapters if they expand it even a little.

Just a question, what do you think of Zack Fair story?

Completely agree about core crisis having a good story despite the cheesy mobile game wrapper.
