The N scale detailing is amazing on that caboose

Nice! Even though I'm not in N Scale I like these models. As you stated the UP had financed a bunch of cabooses for RI over the years and after the final bankruptcy about a hundred or so ex_RI bay window cabooses came to UP . They were in various Rock Island paint schemes and a few served for a short time in "bandit" lettering. A batch of the best ones got upgrades at UP's Omaha Shops and were classed as CA13. Those are the ones that Bluford has modeled. They served on mainline and branchline train until the end of caboose operations. Their last uses were in branch, and transfer service as what are now called "shoving platforms" so your intended use is quite correct. Thanks for presenting these.

Thanks Ron for the review. Going to look for the SP and a couple of UPs. My favorite railcar is the Baywindow Caboose. Take care, Chris

Living the other side of the Pond, to me the caboose is a brake van. It’s great to see American models though!! The main difference between a brake van and a caboose is that the majority of cabooses have a small cab-like raised area for what we in England call the Guard.

So detained! I also build a shed from a caboose. I accidently purchased it to find out later that it was dated a few decades after my era. Just make sure the writing is illegible, of maybe not and see if anyone spots it!

I bought one a while back in L&N paint even made a video with it and an Athearn model. The Bluford ships cabooses are really nice. I even have transfer cabooses that a just as nice

I have been trying to pre order these for a very long time. Supposedly, there is a Western Pacific version available. I'm going to have to try again!

Thanks for the review, Ron. Those are great looking models, & I can definitely use a couple of the PC ones on my 1970-era layout!

Seems like an odd shade of blue/green for the PC version. Is that accurate to the prototype? Any PC rolling stock I've ever seen was a light green, no blueish tint.

I like Bay window cabooses. I only have one Bluford car and the coupler will not connect up with my Micro-Trains couplers. Did you have any issues with this? Thanks -Heath
@RonsTrainsNThings3 жыл бұрын
Hi Heath. No, the couplers on this caboose had no issues with MTL or Accurate couplers.

These look cool but I wish someone would make a nice caboose that contains LED lights inside. Does anyone know of an N-scale caboose like that?
