Harmacist - Speedpaint [Krita]

I do not take commissions, this was for a friend.
regarding the transition in the middle: i overhauled the bg/effects after already editing together the entire speedpaint, including the timed stuff at the end so i opted to just cut out the parts of the recording where i was drawing the old stuff that's not in the final version. if you still want to see the stuff that was cut, all raw recordings can be accessed in this playlist: • Raw Recordings
anyways hi yes my friend commissioned me to draw dps barbara (genshin impact) lmfao. i do have an actual build so that was the motivation behind this :3c. also!! i managed to refrain from flipping the canvas 2309582 times per minute so this one is thankfully more comfortable to watch compared to Rendezvous (and shorter!) :)))))

@@nins8936 I’m not sure how to make it exactly like the video since am not using krita… but i guess u can achieve the same effect by doing this: Create two layers: 1. Paint the character in grayscale (white&black) (refer on the light source etc.) 2. Paint the character with inherent colour (colours that dont affected by surrounding) (blue dress,skin, hair) After this make the grayscale layer on top of the inherent colour layer. Then change the layer properties of the grayscale layer according to your preference (overlay, multiply, or any) im not sure what layer properties are available in krita so u can try whatever u want.

Photoshop is just annoying to actually setup though but benefits more on editing stuff that's why I still have it on my pc I use clipstudio paint because it's actually just a setup photoshop but in extra steps with better templates.

Я уже год не могу понять че за тема серая через которую идет покрас, как он красит через эту серую штуку соблюдая все тона которые описаны этим серым слоем, у меня мозг от этого лопается, помогите, просто опишите че это за инструмент или комбинация хотя бы, я не художник, но мне надо быть в курсе

Если ты про 0:31 , то это световая карта, Приём который помогает проставить гармоничный свет в арте. Вообще CGspeak крайне затер эту тему, если интересно можешь у него поискать дополнительные объяснения, и кстати у него даже есть разбор конкретно этой работы

why if you start working in grayscale you did not realize that the character and the background had practically the same value. you just had to add another stronger light source to your character And the piece could have been 10 times better and most importantly more readable 👍
