Finally a manufacturer/developer/player who is not afraid to compare his gear against a long-time industry-standard in a real-world application. Great video. Thomas, ich werde langsam ein Fan von Deiner Produktlinie - und Dir. :-)

Heard Thomas rocking the Nanocab in Gloucestershire last night. Really incredible gig-level sound from something the size of a 'practice box' you can lift with one finger. Great that it has BOTH parallel and serial ports on the back for running two cabs as that makes it easier to match up the ohm ratings correctly - so I could run it by itself for 80-90% of gigs and add my Engl 1x12 on the odd occasion I wanted a bigger situation. Everything's just so well thought out on Bluguitar products. Amazing hearing Thomas talk too - you can tell he's able to separate 'amp myth' from reality and has an absolutely incredible knowledge of why things sound the way they do.

They say you can't buy experience! I beg to differ when you buy BluGuitar products that's exactly what you are buying. And unlike other faceless manufacturers who rely on there names and past track records BluGuitars are a forward thinking company pushing the boundaries of technology dragging it screening and kicking in to the 21 century. If it wasn't for great people like Thomas Blug we would all still be playing acoustics! I know some people on here think his cabs are expensive but they aren't generic they've been well researched and developed even the speakers are his own designed and the cabinets aren't MDF, they are quality birch ply with finger joints & his own custom design speaker. It doesn't come cheap. I say well done and thank you Thomas Blug!

Paul Watson I just ordered the nano cab. $800 in Australia! By far the most expensive single 12 speaker on the market here. I only bought it cause I wanted the cab that is designed to go with the amp. All I can say is, it better sound bloody good or I am gonna be pissed!

@@officialWWM and how was the Nano cab?
@officialWWM6 жыл бұрын
Jocelyn Guindon well, I was shocked by the volume to be honest. It's super loud and perfect for pub gigs. Like most closed back single 12 speakers, it's very directional but it really does sound great with the amp 1. I tend to just use it for my own monitor and take a direct line out of the Amp 1 to the PA. I recently moved to the Headrush and I'm finding that a better solution these days but the Amp 1 is great for those who want to stay with a traditional Amp setup without the weight.
@JM-eq3sx3 жыл бұрын
@@officialWWM I have the Nanocab and agree that it's directional by itself. The Nanocab was not "cheap," and neither is the Deeflexx, which I bought soon after, but they work very well together. Fatcab is probably next because stages vary a lot.
@pseudmaged7 жыл бұрын
What a great demo. At least from my point of view, Thomas isn't "hype-ing" his products. In other words, he's not saying "Fatcab sounds JUST like a 4x12." He's being very honest and straightforward. You can absolutely hear the differences between both 1x12s and the 4x12. If you were to buy the Fatcab or Nanocab, you wouldn't be expecting "4x12 sound in 1x12 size" and then be disappointed. Not to say that the Fat and Nano don't sound good. On another note: it seems like once the drummer starts playing the bass/low mids from the 4x12 get canceled out, presumably by the kick drum and all you hear are the upper mids from the 4x12. So maybe 4x12s aren't that great in a band mix? Also, I love that Thomas plays on the bridge pickup and plays lots of nice riffs and chords as well as solos. Really gives the full range of the guitar.

At the end of the day sound is a very personal thing and every individual has their own perception of what's good bad or indifferent I've got the Nano cab and it works for me perfectly I have no complaints. I know I would be equally happy with the Fat Cab. The only problem here is and we all do it (we listen with our eyes) yes they look small on a stage and for a lot of people this visual compromise in turn somehow taints the sound in people's head. These cabs are great for the guitarist that can think outside the box the sound quality is excellent, the build quality is exceptional think about it. How many manufactures use resin bonded birch ply and finger jointed construction with a speaker design specifically for that cabinet, most manufacturers buy a generic speaker then make a box to the speakers parameters not the other way round.

Still thinking about making the FatCab my next musical purchase. I wish I could hear an even better "real world" test, and have all 3 of those cabinets mic'd and coming through the PA. Of course the 4x12 sounds bigger, but on stage, you only get to mic one of those speakers and that's the sound the audience hears. Although... No denying that the Fat/Nano can hold their own, even in this setting.

I would love to get the fatcab, however...how much better is it than a bogner ported or mesa thiele that sells for less? Also, are these cabs made in china, and if so why the high price point? I have the AMP 1, played it through a Marshall 2x12 and it sounded damn good..however I know there had to be a better cab out there (it is an MDF 1936 cab with GT75 speakers) and sold it...and I'm leaning toward the Mesa Thiele...50 bucks less and a 90W speaker. Fair questions, I think.

wow ... I am currently using a line 6 setup - pod hd500x and the bogner designed tube amp head DT25 - that accepts various instructions from the pod on how to use the tubes in both the power and preamp section.... No IR capacity so while I've been contemplating the Mooer Radar and the powercab, along comes the Blug setup - and I am curious how my pod would sound with the Amp1 and the blubox into the dt25 cab and the powercab - for stereo. Very interesting product line - anyone got 4000$ dollars lying around? :)

It would have been interesting to see him not switch cabs, but to have e Amp1's each set up for his ideal sound on each cab and switch between those rigs. In this demo, it is one EQ setup used on all cabs and I don't think it is ideal for any of them, though it does show the difference ways each cab reproduces the sound. Both examples would be great.

Using one amp setting and just switching the cabinet shows more if the difference of the cabinets, but you are right: it’s a different thing when you perfect the Tone of each cabinet using the ideal EQ settings.

The 4x12 sounds smoother without the grit' of either 1x12 cab but seemed to lack the volume of both,
@officialWWM7 жыл бұрын
TheAngello120 that's because you have 50 or 60 watts going into one speaker vrs 4. The single speaker is pushed into its sweet spot easier and moves a lot more. The quad box speakers do not move as much as the signal is split between 4 speakers. It's simple physics.
