I have a bad back and the amp 1 and the nano-cab are perfect for me. May even get a second nano-cab or maybe even stereo. You can pick up The nano-cab with one finger. The tone is very good and I just scratch the surface with it. Thanks Thomason!

I got the Bluguitar Amp 1 years ago when it was £450 I use it for recording as my main option . I have pedals and stereo echo all linked to an analogue mixer. I have no more room for cabs but I use the DI approach as I can play anytime day or night and I am the only person who hears it !!

l have used the fat cab with an Axefx2 and Seymour Duncan Powerstage 170 for a few years now ,it's very compact and more than capable of handling most gigs.l also use it with a Victory Countess as well it's just a great piece of gear.

If running two Nanocabs in serial, side by side,will two Deeflexx systems be needed for volume enhancement, or just one?

On the volume demonstration... am I understanding correctly that the Bluguitar amp will maintain it's tonal character just by using the volume knob, without needed a power soak?
@BluGuitar
@BluGuitar 4 жыл бұрын
Yes Alan, that is the case. Have you played an amp already?
@alancosens
@alancosens 4 жыл бұрын
@@BluGuitar Thank you. I haven't played the Amp 1. I've played many amps however. Never seen a tube amp that didn't need to be cranked to sound good. This begs the question then, what is the need for the power soak if the tonal character maintains at low volumes? Haven't seen a demo of the Amp 1 yet that didn't sound incredible.

Thomas, I have a few questions. Just out of curiosity: 1. How much output power will you have if you have two Nanocabs running in serial? 2. I have read on the manual that you plug into the 16 ohm speaker jack of amp1 when using two 8 ohm cabinets. Do you still plug into the 8 ohm jack of the cabinet? 3. In terms of overall Master Volume, what would be the reccomendation to turn it up to when running amp1 through two cabinets?
@BluGuitar
@BluGuitar 4 жыл бұрын
1. 60 W + 60 W = 120 W 2. 16 ohm speaker out -> 8 ohm in (1st cabinet) -> serial out (1st cabinet) -> 8 ohm in (2nd cabinet) 3. Depends on the resistance and power handling of the cabinets and in which way they are connected to the AMP1. More info on the topic here: www.bluguitar.com/english/faq.html#boxen

As far as I can tell, the amp1 has only a single speaker output, either 8 or 16 ohms. How are you driving two nano cabs with one amp1? Thanks.
@BluGuitar
@BluGuitar 4 жыл бұрын
The Amp1 has one speaker out for 8Ω and one for 16Ω. Both jacks shouldn't be used at the same time. But the NANOCAB has a serial- and a parallel output. So connect the first NANOCAB to the 16R output of the AMP1 and the second NANOCAB to the serial output of the first one

This has the Thiele Bass reflex built into it, to make the sound omnidirectional?
@BluGuitar
@BluGuitar 4 жыл бұрын
That enhances the bass. But BluGuitar cabinets sound more even due to a beam blocker in front of the speaker and the grill cloth is also special: it’s made from paper , like the old Marshall cabs from the 60‘s...

Yes, those singers love to complain. LOL! At band practice last night I had my 65 Amps Tupelo pulled down to about 3 watts with the master voltage, yet I was too loud. I had to engage the compressor in order to be able to get some sustain. He of course had 2 JBL EON612 Speakers as monitors.

Am I getting it right? You make a 60w cab for a 100w amp??? Why? Why not a 100w capable cab? And not worry at all about turning up over 6 or 7??? Lovely sound and playing but I cant understand the power mismatch?
@BluGuitar
@BluGuitar 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Allan. The question of the power handling of the BluGuitar loudspeakers is quite justified. However, there are actually good reasons for designing the two speakers in NANOCAB and FATCAB in a 60 Watts version. If there was a 100-watt loudspeaker that would correspond to our (or Thomas Blug’s) sound ideals, then we would use it. We found a physical problem that cannot be changed: 100-watt speakers need a larger 2-inch voice coil. Due to the size of the voice coil, the membrane of the loudspeaker will inevitably become stiffer, and this is at the expense of sound (especially at low and medium volume). The BluGuitar speakers have a smaller voice coil that makes them sound much more alive and consistent especially at lower volumes. However, this smaller type of voice coil can only handle 60 watts. The BluGuitar speakers have the liveliness of a Celestion Greenback and are almost three times as strong. They withstand the load of a loud AMP1 very well. Master settings over 7 on the AMP1 will make the loudspeaker (one Nanocab or one Fatcab) simply not get any louder. If you turn the master up beyond this point, you will actually destroy the BluGuitar loudspeakers during continuous operation. If you need even more volume you should use an extra speaker cabinet. Our experience is that both NANOCAB and FATCAB are so loud in use that even large open air stages can be filled with sound adequately, as long as you don't play Heavy Metal. If a single BluGuitar cabinet is actually too quiet for you, then you should use two cabs. The combination of 2 NANOCABS or 2 FATCABS or one NANOCAB and a FATCAB (Thomas Blug’s personal favorite) is extremely loud, and sounds also really good. In addition when using 2 cabinets you can increase the spread of your sound much better on stage by putting one cabinet behind you, and a second beside you.

@@BluGuitar Thanks very much for the reply and info. I am very much considering the amp1 and nano cab, I have been researching this set up and am very excited by it but will have to buy online as I have nowhere to try it for myself. Having to carry 2 cabs defeats my main goal of having a small light weight rig but I very much take the point that having to turn up to 7 on a 100w amp is very unlikely, however I want no chance to blow the speaker. The power section is solid state correct? What is its valve power equivalent? As I understand it solid state power rating can be less than a valve equivalent? Thanks again for the info.
