BluGuitar REMOTE1 - Making The Most Versatile Amp Even Better!

Ever since I had my grubby hands on the BluGuitar Amp 1 Ive been blown away with how versatile this small but mighty amp is. The REMOTE1 adds a tone of flexibility where you can access all 4 channels and even adjust the gain/ volume and save that into each individual patch. In this video, I explore what can be done with the BluGuitar REMOTE1. The Studio Rats are core band members Paul Drew on guitar/production/mixing, drummer James Ivey and Dan Hawkins on bass. They collaborate with singers and musicians to produce radio-ready songs.

BluGuitar Amp1...The 9 channel amp! Paul, you make it all sound so easy and good! I've had the Iridium Edition, but had to let it go, and return to my ol' Fender Bandmaster, but now I'm turned on to the Mercury! I want something more modern... Haha! The endless hunt for the perfect sound. Now that is a PRS DGT and a BluGuitar Amp1 ;-)

Great demo and love the channel! I just got my Iridium and am blown away. I’ve owned the other versions and returned them. They bill the Iridium as the “metal” version but to me it’s the idealized version of what the others should have been all along. The Amp1 is a game-changer. I definitely need to get the Remote next.

@@blackmirror5559 Original and Mercury are brighter with a much looser bottom end. Maybe that’s okay for Thomas Blug who plays mostly Strats with a vintage, looser tone. But the Iridium is incredibly tight and crystal clear with a lot of articulation. Suits my tastes perfectly but maybe not if you like the bottom end loose with more top end. Pay no attention to the constant billing of the Iridium as a “metal” amp. It’s just a kickass rock amp with 3 great rock tones and a great clean channel as icing on the cake. To some the Iridium is “different”, to me it’s “better”.

@@Sir_Dickbag wow great answer, Iceman, thanks. So you would say the Iridium is a different (arguably better) beast, no point asking if it covers JTM45, JCM800, Super/Deluxe Reverb territory - it's not that, it's sleeker and meaner.

I have the Mercury and am blown away by its articulation at gain levels that might be greater, but actually better, meaning more musical and articulate than my Friedman BE-Od pedal….. but I definitely like the higher gain options of the Iridium. I was put off by the chug, djent crowd reviews which implied that that were no usable crunch or beyond breakup sounds with it . Just sterile clean and brahhhhhhhh !

But that's just it. This isn't a modeler. It's an actual amp in a floor controller format.

@@tonepilot It uses a tube-powered preamp with a solid-state Class D power amp. The preamp tube is a subminiature vacuum tube.

@@tonepilot No problem. I think they call these mini tubes "nano tubes". They were originally developed for tube based gain pedals. Basically, it's a tube preamp/solid state power amp...similar to the Valvestate amps Marshall used to make. Only Blug uses a voltage regulator circuit to insure that the tube is not voltage starved. What ever he's doing, I can tell you it sounds great.

I'm hooked on the studio rats channel lads. What speakers/cab size would you recommend for using live to get the best out of the mercury or iridium amp. I play small clubs/pubs max 300 I'm defo gonna get one. Brill review

Nope but every channel does have its own tone knob which isn't programmable either but gives more flexibility. To be honest I've never played one, played and own several H&K stuff which has Blug's hands all over it, like the Access pre-amp for instance. Blug is a great guitar player with great hearing. The only downside is het only plays SSS Strats. He told me that but that's like 30 years ago.

Pair it with the hx-fx and you have the ultimate small portable rig. Even better than the remote1. All the fx and full control using midi on hx fx😉

It is even better with Remote, because you have more presets to choose, with HXFX you have only four and then you have to change bank up or down. Four may sound enough, but as YJM has said, More is more.

No it’s absolutely fantastic for someone around the house. I guess if you are saying money and space is not a factor I guess so. But damn these things have there own vibe that is superior or preferable , useful, musical in some respects to monster “real “ tube amps
