I should clarify that very few of my videos are specifically written for the sole reason of being an excuse to pole. The excuse to pole is that I can do it and it helps demonstrate athletic movements in a way that I'm familiar with. The CONCEPT of the video was just a continuation of an earlier topic 😁

When I was hardcore into Tae Kwon Do, one of my fellow students was a young woman who had a great fondness for heels... and staggeringly precise head-height kicks. For some fun, since we had an old training dummy that wasn't needed any more, we had her test it out in an old pair of heels she didn't like any more. I've never winced harder for a dummy than after watching her twist to break off a fully-buried stiletto heel, leaving it stuck in the target at eye level.

That is a greatsword, not a longsword, longswords are generally shorter, especially the handle. They also do not have any parrying tools on the lower part of the blade, usually only a crossguard, and sometimes also parrying rings for additional hand protection during a swordfight.

A thicker, chunkier heel actually helps provide a lot more stability! Although you absolutely can do amazing things in regular high heels and maybe even stilettos, I would say that the max height you would want to go for a heel if you're fighting is 3 inches (with a thicker heel for stability!) 💛 Thin heels do make for a nice weapon in a pinch though! Keep up the great work ^^

This is why it was refreshing to see Ilsa Faust take off her heels to run and fight in the mission impossible movies. I can certainly agree that heels, particularly stilettos, are not suited to most forms of combat. However, if one knows the proper technique for walking in them running and even kicking up into someone’s throat are really quite easy. The kick was just a demonstration to prove that I could, but I gave several men at college nightmares after they saw me sprinting across gravel in 5 inch stilettos after one guy thought it’d be funny to steal my backpack. It’s easier with a demonstration, but I’ll tell you ladies out there the secret my Grandma taught me. Most people will naturally want to walk the same way you would in tennis shoes which is heel toe. When wearing heels, you want to stretch your foot out as though going toe then heel. The height of the heel will naturally make your heel hit the ground first, but walk with the mentality of toe heel. When running, absolutely do not put your heel down first. Your going to take the same technique as walking but shift your weight forward just a little bit. It will make your foot come down all at once. Practice running while just on your tip toes and keep your knees slightly bent. A high heel is not made to take the pressure of all of your weight in a running motion, and if you try to come down on your heel first, your ankle will wobble which will result in unsteady balance which increases the risk of falling or breaking the heel. Hope this helps

I know that in theory, but the narrow platform makes even tiptoe running harder in these heels! It's not just he heel itself
@kray3883
@kray3883 9 ай бұрын
@@blumineck Definitely, any kind of strappy heel or heel with a low cut vamp is actively worse than just going around tippy-toe. Especially as they usually have no padding in the sole and often a bonus slippery footbed...so you have no protection on the bottom of your foot and simultaneously the top of the shoe is digging in. A high heel on a nice boot with a thick sole and held in place along your whole foot with some good arch support is still not perfect but much less bad, even if the heel is quite pointy. At least the shoe won't cause extra pain and the sole provides a little cushion as you land on your forefoot.
@ilikechococookies342
@ilikechococookies342 9 ай бұрын
This is really good! I find it not necessarily applicable to platform heels, particularly ones where the sole curves up before the toes so the ball of your foot is kinda resting on a slope- walking is okay, but the curve under the shoe makes it harder to stabilise your steps. It feels like walking on tip-toe but without your toes on the ground- it’s POSSIBLE to run, but still dangerous and not recommended!
@shadowstar1310
@shadowstar1310 9 ай бұрын
I thought I mentioned this in the original comment, but reading through, I guess I didn’t. The shoes I was wearing in my example were high, strappy, and platformed stilettos. Which are exactly the shoe all of you are claiming none of my advice would work on. It’s actually even more applicable in those shoes than it is in a lower heel. You just have to practice the technique first as it will feel unnatural to do the first time you try.

This was much funnier than I was expecting. Now I feel like we need a female action hero that fights in heels but when it starts going down ill she takes off her heels and you know it's on.

Nah some people are just built for combat with heels.. I was paintballing once for a bday and omfg these ladies were dressed up all pretty in makeup and they weren't the kind you'd think to be playing paintball tbh but all of a sudden they popped the masks on and ran off into the woods screaming at one another like it was war, idk how they all managed to stay upright when their heels were so narrow and tall but they were determined to win 😂
