Idk though since this is kinda early in the season, apparently Season 3 was originally going to end with Sam getting Dean out of his contract (somehow) by giving in to his demon blood magic but they didn’t get to develop that storyline throughout the season because the screenwriters’ unions went on a national strike for 3 months, so actually following through on Dean’s deal was more of a last-minute change. Makes you wonder if they ever would have introduced angels to the series at all if all that hadn’t happened.

It is probably another version of Cas’s name on that spell , there are a lot of spells that use angelic name so the writers could have take inspiration or just take it as it is actually ! And there are a lot of variants to pretty much ever Angel name ever depending on the different parts of the world ! Cas in the real angeology is linked to to the Angel of Thursday ( actually the Angel of Saturday )and the Angel of Solitude , Temperence and Tears , Kafziel, one Gabriel’s aids in the Bible , the name variations of their name that I came across are Cassiel , Castiel , Cael , Caela ...and probably more. I remember reading somewhere that the Angel appeared once some were in Spain...in the Castile region ... which explains his name ...but don’t quote me on any of this ...Is been a long time I did not dab in angelic names and their legends , I might have mixed up some infos !

Eric knew where he was going from that. He knew there would be an angel raising him.
