Take for example punk, it was a movement that started in britain with people fed up with the current climate and the political state with the fact it was harder to get jobs and so they protested against the conservative twats by wearing ripped clothing and beating people up. so no, what you said was wrong, and if anything America is more posh than Britain, as in Britain we don't need some sort of dream, we just do what we want, when we want to.

I was at one of their gigs at the SECC in Glasgow, a venue often criticised for its sterility. Blur absolutely tore the place down. I was still young at the time, maybe 17 or so, and I needed a good few days to recover. It was great!
