What I like about this new album is that it doesn't sound like a bunch of midle-aged men trying to hard to be young again (as other bands certainly do). The songs are mature and interesting to listen to.

@@denxosDon't know if you'd see this, since this is an old comment, but it's possible that it reuses a demo from Everyday Robots. Blur recorded the album in 2014, but in 2015 Damon was busy with his Gorillaz album Humanz so he couldn't fully finish the production process, so the other members took a bunch of demos from Damon's iPad and finished the songs that way. Many of those demos could have been from Plastic Beach or Everyday Robots. I've got a lil obsession :3

Graham Coxon once said "he was immature blocking himself from everyone before he left the band" and now, during the making of 'The Magic Whip', he metaphorically took the lyrics of Damon Albarn as (in his words): "the love of Damon for train" and "how Damon likes to stare at the window while he's traveling [in trains]" so Coxon didn't want Albarn seeing just a wall of guitars on his trip and broke down all the walls between them [Coxon and Albarn]. That thought makes this song and the whole álbum even more special :')

Lyrics: And the bright rings we got in summertime Seemed like a breath of fresh air back in the summertime When we were more like brothers, that was years ago So if it doesn't sing like a broken chord I'm running out of heart today I'm running out of open road to you When I know you are emoting and you're dazed Is something broke inside you, 'cause at the moment I'm lost and feeling that I don't know If I'm losing you again And when we fly tomorrow over the Java seas And my younger match will be there with me 'Cause they remind me of swimming out too far one day When the coral was gone, but I didn't care anyway I was running out of heart that day I was running out of open road to you And I know I was emoted, I was dazed Is something broke inside me, 'cause at the moment I'm lost and feeling that I don't know If I'm losing you again I'm running out of heartache Just sitting out the constant doubt in my day But I don't know what it is I'm sweating out the toxins Is my terracotta heart breaking? I don't know If I'm losing you If I'm losing you again
