Try thinking of your synthesizer lines as if they were percussion - as if you were a drummer with a snare drum, trying to add rhythmical accents to a composition - where would you add snare hits?

Another awesome video! I come to techno production from a background in ethnic percussion, and I'm absolutely loving how much inspiration you're driving from having a physical element to generate rythm with actual drums. Thank you for sharing it with us and please keep it up!

You always come with new perspectives and approach to the music, how refreshing! Nice studio equipment by the way (I’m talking about the plants of course😉).

_Because of Acid Velvet Christ, I’ve been experimenting with percussive synths whether it’s lead or bass and came up with cool variations while having filters open to make cool dimensions. 🏆🏆🏆🏆 Love your tutorials. They definitely put imaginative processes into music creation._

Amazing that the youth its rediscovering ratcheting, to see a berlin school technique being rediscoverd its fun. I would mangle an arp.amxd device (Not the arpeggiator from live) and have them ratchet between each other (random lfo's to chain selectors its fun but chaotic) a few beat repeaters, some resample magic and you outshine any melodic techno standar deaccelerating arp pattern in a blink

Lately I've been using modular "percussive" loops, beat repetears and grain delay to make leads and textures.

i forget which album but one of barker’s albums is about this idea, not using drums at all with other sounds taking the rhythmic roles, and it’s a great album

That's basically the same concept as chugging palm muted power chords on the low end of distorted guitars in metal music -- called unsurprisingly... wait for it... rhythm guitar 😁
