It's time for an update on my blush roulette, which has quickly become my favourite part of my makeup life in 2024! This isn't exactly the same as a project pan, but I am trying to overall curate, declutter, and use up my blushes. In this video, I'm talking about how my focus blushes have gone over the past few months, and which ones I'm decluttering. I will of course also discuss the next few blushes I will be focusing on from May - July. Just as a recap, I focus on one blush per month so that I can determine if I should declutter, keep it, or try to use it up. I'd love to hear if you're joining me! I love that that’s what I do once a month. I pick out products and I use them for a month as well as doing my project panning and it helps me identify which one I love and which formula works for me.❤❤ be safe everyone 😊😊

I've been watching your videos this morning as I'm painting my nails and getting ready so I've really appreciated all the content and all the makeup looks. You really do change it up and experiment and get creative, which you talked about in your making your no buy fun video. I'm so glad this project has helped you to make decisions on your blush collection! As for the engagement, congrats! I also 100% understand how you feel about engagement rings and getting engaged. My partner and I are in a very similar position to you and yours. Getting married/engaged is not a surprise a I generally feel like engagements shouldn't be up to one person. I personally want a discussion so both parties are ready and want that. I also have strong opinions on engagement rings as well and that they're very one-sided.

From what I've heard, the Tarte Amazonian Clay minis are made in a different lab than the full size. Lots of people have said they prefer the minis. Also congrats!🎉❤

Congratulations on your engagement!! I love that you’re doing what works for you with the whole proposal and engagement thing. I was personally very excited about an engagement ring, but we also felt weird about it being one sided. My husband actually wanted an engagement ring as well so he bought a basic $10 men’s ring off amazon. It was his idea and I loved that we both got to wear an “engagement ring” of sorts!! Anyways, all that to say, I just love that you’re both doing what works for you!!🫶🏻

Congratulations on the engagement Lara & partner 💕 Also I didn't know that you're in a PHD program!! On what, if I may ask? Sorry if you have answered that before, must have missed that :x To the Tarte Exposed blush: I have the same struggle with it getting hard pan all the time. I use a Tesa strip to remove it, then it works quite fine. I am using it with a brush that is not soft, but more firm. It's not my favourite blush but I am currently working on using it up (big pan already!!) because it is my most expensive blush and I don't want it to go to waste. Sorry if some of my sentences sound weird/aren't that understandable, English isn't my first language 🙈

Your English is great! Ooh I don’t even know what a Tesa strip is, will have to look into it. I think I just need to plan around with it more. And I’m researching the impact (political, cultural, social) of documentary film :) I don’t mention it too much just because it doesn’t come up frequently!

@@laralikesmascara oh thank you 🙈 A Tesa strip is just adhesive tape, Tesa is a big brand for adhesives here so their name gets kinda used as a synonym for it. Sorry, i had forgotten that for a second while writing my og comment 😄 Your research sounds so interesting!! I love documentaries, good luck with it! 💜

You could repress the May NYX blush into the Bourgeoisie Pig packaging if you end up keeping it!

Congrats on the engagement 🥰 I love that your doing what works for you and your partner. There is no "right" way, communication and a decision that works for both is best❤ I have so many blushes,I need to sit down and swatch and go thru I would buy every shade and clearly i can't wear every shade. I will be filming that craziness. So I'll let you know😂😂😂

Congrats on the engagement! 💞 My parents also got engaged without a ring, those weren’t thaat big at that time, only a few of their friends had one (for the woman). Maybe it became much more popular in the 2000s with the big romcom boom and TV shows, idk. Nothing wrong with that, I love romcoms (especially 90s and 2000s) but there are sooo many things that work in movies but not IRL lol. Love that you do your own thing and what works for the both of you.

You’re right, a lot of the wedding traditions that we see these days are actually relatively new and it has to do purely with wedding industry and how profitable it is - bachelorettes, bridal showers, etc

Luminoso has a golden glow, could you use that as a topper when you want gold shimmer and declutter that other NYX one you kinda hate? Obvi you would have to test it out but when you were describing the NYX one I immediately thought of Luminoso for gold shimmer.

I had constant hard pan with Tarte Exposed also, I ended up decluttering it. Congrats on the engagement! We did something similar to you, no official engagement, we're not going to have a traditional wedding either. We'll probably just have friends and family over for a backyard party since we live on a lake.

@laralikesmascara We got a little of it, when we told people we were engaged we got the confused "oh..." responses, I guess nowadays it's required that you put on a spectacle and film it for facebook? Not my style!

Omg Lara I just bought the Tarte blush in the color exposed and I love the color I used it 5 times already and I force myself to put it down. Let me asked you do you use the same brush that you use for cream blushes and powder blushes? Because it happened to me with my hourglass bronzer, I use the brush I was using for cream bronzer in that powder bronzer and it had hard pan in an instant. 😢😭 I was so mad ! Anyway loving your project pan 🤗❤️❤️❤️

No way!! I think I was using different brushes in the past, but I’m not sure - it’s just been so long since I reached for it. I’ll make sure to use different ones in future!

I’ve been trying to get minis if brand has them like hourglass blush and rare beauty mascara realized I almost never finish them before it expires. The hourglass blush mini took me over 1 year to finish which I used almost daily didn’t realize their powders are only good for 12m. Plus its a lot easier to take to work or traveling.

I honestly wish every single one of my blushes were minis. Then I could conceivably get through them all!! I can't even imagine how long it will take to finish my hourglass blushes lol

only one side wearing a ring is very cultural. back home both wear rings from the beginning (engagement or even as from the dating period)

For sure! In traditional Turkish culture both partners wear engagement rings (which makes a lot more sense to me) - but apparently nowadays, that’s not always the case
