I got a Blythe doll for Christmas in 1972. I lived in Glassboro New Jersey. Funny to think that I now live so close to the creator Allison Katzan. I still have my Blythe doll with her original dress.

Wow small world! It was still called Glassboro Collage when I lived there! We moved to Vacaville Ca in 1976 when I was 14. The last time I went home was in 2010. I was really shocked at how different it was from what I remembered. The house I remembered as being so huge had shrunk, the peach orchards at the end of our street were replaced by a housing development. No matter how hard I tried I could not find the elementary school (Thomas E. Bowe) that I went to. GPS just kept landing me back in the projects haha. I did find and take lost of pictures of my Jr. High Intermediate School. I don't know if you know any of these places but thought I would throw it in just in case. The only really good thing about going back was buying some peaches at a road side stand. They were just as wonderful as I remembered, I still have the pits!

Thurma Morgan I only lived there as a baby in 1969-1971 I think. I had a friend in 1985 who went to the intermediate school. The beautiful peach orchards & road stands I remember in elementary school. My mom would take me. Do you know anything about Mullica Hill? There's 2 houses I can't forget riding past. I wish I had pictures

I remember so many cool old houses but I don't remember Mullica Hill. I Googled "Photos of old houses Mullica Hill NJ " but didn't see any that rang a bell. Maybe try that and see if the ones you remember are on there.

Thurma Morgan I tried same search. One was an orb looking house on breakneck road & the other was across the lake just past old mill red barn used to be arcade. Google plus won't let me in here to chat I just tried to send you picture of Mullica him I remember Did you know pitman?

I wanted her so badly when I was a kid....10 years old. I finally talked my mom into getting me a Blythe doll only to discover the local toy store in my tiny town didn't carry her and they couldn't order her. I have been thrilled to see her resurgence!! I finally have my Blythe doll I always wanted!! :) . I still have my old comic books that have adds for her in them...that is how I found out about her in the first place.

I absolutely love this video. Getting into the hobby (addiction:), its all very confusing. Im glad even this short video explained the history well enough to get a feel for what these dolls are all about. I love collecting and customizing, and knowing where they came from.

awe, so sweet! Ya know, I first saw Blythe because my ex had one. I thought she was the scariest thing ever! But after a year of looking at her she really grew on me. Now I have my own and I'm currently customizing her ^_^

I was a little girl back in 1972, and I wanted a Bythe doll! Not as much as a Breyer's stable and horses, but still. Sadly, my mother bought me toys that *she* liked, so I never got the stable or a Blythe doll. Ah, well.

First heard of these back in 2005 when I was still living withy folks after college. I liked the Bratz dolls but saw the Blythe dolls and thought they were cuter. I was able to get Madamoiselle rosebud, and Madame Butterfly when Hasbro had those on the US market on their website. Got a redhead Ashton Drake repro, Enchanted Petal and a purple haired prima dolly, plus many little ones. Haven't gotten any in ages, but am glad they got good lesser priced knockoffs. I've done many Blythe doll drawings.

why don't they credit this "photographer" who took most of those pictures? and who actually brought the doll back to the public after so many years?
@tutsecret4995 жыл бұрын
The creator the old lady should have all the credits.

I wish I had one but I don't have the money. How much is the original? I sew, I crochet, knit and I would dress the doll in a spectacular fashion.
