It’s great that there’s options. Thank you for this information. Over the years according to logos I’ve spent $18,000. I have over 14,000 resources and I probably use 10%. I didn’t get to choose the resources to come with a package. I wished I would’ve bought the resources as I did my studies and needed them. This is great advice.

I upgraded my pro subscription (early adopter) to Max at the annual rate, and chose the Gold Researcher library which was just over $80 with dynamic pricing. This gets me the free course which is another benefit that is worth while. 🧠

Got the max subscription which was discounted by 50% or so since I have over 20,000 books.

🧠 I appreciate you laying out the options, I will have to consider the subscription model. I am a long time Logos user, currently with version 10 but going back to at least version 1.7. My Greek and Hebrew resources are spread across Logos, BibleWorks, ebooks, and hard copy books. It’s not that bad since I know where to look for the resources. Having everything in one place might be worth it, depending on the cost.

Thanks for this video and the previous one. Your explanation of the model is the best one I’ve seen. I have Logos 10 with a gold library and I upgraded to the pro subscription without purchasing a new library.

I'm planning on keeping using Logos online without the subscription. I do not have extra funds right now for a subscription. I already have plenty of books that I have not read yet.

I was looking at Calvin’s commentaries for $150, but it was included in reformed bronze with a TON of other books for something like $70-80 dollars. Thats crazy to me

I just signed up for the Pro subscription, based on your recommendation. I got about 400 more books in my library, I also got the print library feature, which I wanted to get separately before. I probably will not purchase any additonal library for a long time, I have more than enough books than I have time to read.

I've had Logos 9 Basic + Baptist Starter for a while. I've just been approved for an academic discount. I like the printed books feature & the AI features are intriguing. I'm tossing between Logos 9 Silver/Gold or 2025 Silver/Gold. It sounds like a subscription is compulsory with a 2025 library. I've nearly finished a bachelor of ministry with the aim of chaplaincy or similar. - Thoughts?

I went with the Logos 10 platinum library pre-subscription and now have logos max since it is on for a very good price if you previously had purchased a library and I dont feel like i will need much else for a long time as a Bible Study leader.

Thank you! I followed the link for the free trial and it is just taking me to a 30 day trial. Just FYI. I did go ahead and get the trial but I thought you should know. I have been a Logos user since Scholar's Library Version 3 (when it was mailed out on DVD), 2007. I most recently had Logos 10 Full Feature Set with Silver Library. I am testing out the Pro subscription since I am a preacher. I am bi-vocational so the AI tools should be very helpful--I have admittedly used Google AI; Logos AI should be more reliable. I will most likely get the two-years in advance option. I have not purchased a 2025 Library, yet. I have previously had: Logos 9 Silver, Logos 8 Silver with Background Library Expansion S, Logos 7 Starter, and the Scholar's Library (LE) before that.

Thanks! I found out that the trial basically doubles your default trial period. That means if you own Logos 10 you get 15 days (I think) and it doubles it to 30 days. If you don't have Logos 10 then it doubles your trial period from 30 days to 60 days. I hope that helps!

🧠 I just grab the monthly free books right now. I appreciate the tip to check for collections for a book you’re looking at buying though. A great way to expand your library and be getting something you’re actually using right now.

I ended up going with the pro. I figured I could upgrade at a different time if it is actually good. Also wasn’t a significant difference for my already existing library between pro and max. Another savings was paying up front for the 2 year as opposed to monthly. I am also not that into the AI offering. I did grab a discount on the upgrade to library as there were a couple I wanted. The part I like is the courses they offer. I picked up a few in the last when on sale and wanted to try a few others but they have never been on sale so here is to hoping that they rotate them through! Have to juggle that with language studies will be fun!

Not planning on changing at the moment. The Ai seems to only allow expedited searches and sermon outlines and question generation. I don't have a need for sermon developed by Ai or questions. The rest I can still do through internal searches.

What about the newbie. First time logos user. I’d like some good commentaries and dictionaries. But I’m completely overwhelmed with the total number of books and the cost. How does a beginner start without going broke?

I purchased the 2025 researcher portfolio library with logos max subscription using the academic discount and maybe logos launch discount together for 35% off which cost me $2200.00. I already had purchased years ago the logos 8 with diamond library So I had some of the books already. I will see if this was the correct route for me to go, but so far I am impressed with the library of books. I figure that there will still be some over time I will need to get such as the Tyndale House Greek New Testament which unfortunately did not come with the library. I would like to know what additional books I might have missed in this particular package that I may need.

What if I have some of the books in a 'subscription library'? I mean, if I see a 2025 library that appeals to me, will I be able to use all of it's features if say, I purchase only the cheapest subscription? Thank you brother! You are really, really doing a service to those of us who never learned the intricacies' of Logos to such a depth!

If you have some of the books in the subscription library, you'll still retain them during and after your subscription expires. I recommend selecting the cheapest subscription that works for you initially. You can always upgrade later.

Not at all. I just happen to be on Max, but don't let that stand as a recommendation - I'm not convinced it's worth the price difference yet. Good spotting though.

Like @BillMcFadden, I got the Max sub and the discount with it. With 15K books/resources (since '99), I pretty much pick and choose as needed books/sets/library offerings as needed. Thanks for the helpful video!

You're probably there. As a general rule if you've got 500 good books that you would use from time to time, you could say you've got a substantial library. The problem with buying these libraries is that you pay for many thousands of books, but only really find a small percentage useful. That's certainly my experience.

🧠 I have the Max subscription on a 30 day trial. I am not sure I that I will stay with it. Maybe if the partnered with BMA for learning the original languages! 😂

Yes. We offer our members academic pricing on Logos. Its a nice perk, especially since we often recommend new books to buy.

my biggest complaint is that logos pads the collections with worthless (IMO) older works to make it look like you are getting so much content, and puts the good stuff in higher price categories.
