BMC Rear Hitch Bar Light Install - 2017 - Current Ford F-250, 350, 450

This is not a video subject matter that we would normally have on the channel, but these lights come in great use around the homestead for anything truck, trailer, or any activity occurring at the rear of the vehicle.
The easy DIY install saved us money and allowed for us to learn about the vehicle and will aid in future troubleshooting should any issues arise with the lights.

Brian at BMC lights is making a custom rear lighting option with a factory install finished look. Available in various light brand options, their heavy duty light housing and no drill easy install, really makes for a simple and clean look with great functionality.

The lights are secured at the rear of the truck in the factory tow package square tubing and wired to the engine bay, then connected to the factory up-fitter switches.

Those looked better than armored Ridgeback until I saw how thin the L-bracket is. Also I'd go to ace hardware and get thicker washers to not have to double or triple up and have bent washers.

I’ve been highly satisfied. Helps a ton when it’s night time and I’m using predominantly the camera to navigate as I back up.

@A Little Bit Of Everything Southern Homestead that's good to know you've had good experience so far. I have been dabbling with the pod lights in the bumper but really don't want to cut into it. These seem like a good idea that's removable if you get a new truck or just don't want them anymore. Also do you have any videos at night to see how bright they are? Give us an idea how bright the small corner light is on the ends.

I’d hook these up to your auxiliary switches. Having those bright lights on every time you back up could possibly give you problems with blinding people

They are hooked to my auxiliary upfitter switches. Can turn them on and off as needed. Works great. Thanks for watching and commenting.

These are great lights. I also have the sick diesel C light extensions in the front. As well as some rough country in grill lights. I have a video for a plug and play running board full length led. If you have the plug. Which I find more trucks do, as opposed to don’t. Probably one of my favorite light add ons. And extremely affordable.

What do I need to do since my truck didn’t come with Upfitter switched from factory

Any switch with a 20 amp fuse should work. Something with a relay likely to be beneficial as well. Google light bar switches and it should line you up. Wire length will depend on where you locate switch and distance to battery. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting
