As a Spurs fan, it's all about expectations. None of us are claiming we're title contenders. Opposing fans and scoffing pundits all said we were finished after hiring Ange and selling Kane, but those same people will say "Spurs bottled the league" at the end of the year when Man City inevitably reclaim their crown. Go for it, man. It's year one of our rebuild, and so far Spurs are ahead of schedule. We're enjoying the ride and enjoying how much everyone else hates us for it.

Best Advice to give to others as they're getting into the PL but haven't picked a team yet. Once you become a fan of whoever, you will be a fan of them for life! Real Fans, not the Bandwagon fans who jump around, or fans of a player(s) and follow them opposed to a club. I always say Spurs Choose me as much as I choose them over 20 years ago.

The problem with Ten Hag is that at Ajax he was used to dealing with young, upcoming players. At MANU, he has to deal with stars. Not his strong suit.

That Zlatan analysis is not exactly true. Ajax youth system is separate from their first team, and their academy products are already UCL proven, national champions. Ajax is a European powerhouse who's been dominating Eredivisie much harder than Man UTD dominated PL even with Sir Alex. And exactly because of Ajax management model and their focus on youth development, their first team players aren't viewed as up and comers but rather a finished product of the academy, ready to be sold at 100 million euros. Ten Hag's multiple time champion Ajax squad had much higher winning mentality than this UTD squad that hasn't won anything important in their lives (except for Casemiro and Varane). And they're hungry, not spoiled with a 300k a week salary while producing nothing. Also for the most part ETH has basically brought his Ajax team to UTD: Martinez, Anthony, Onana, also begging for Frenkie and Timber for years. He has been relying on the same players that he has a rapport with. His biggest problem is that he doesn't understand PL football, and he's weak tactically. Man UTD play the most direct, vanilla, bland, ordinary football, even Ole had more depth. Ajax was successful only because those players were brought up together since early teenage years, not because Tan Hag is good at talking to young people... Any decent manager would succeed with that squad. When Ajax drops a golden generation, they're just bound to dominate, that's why they still have 4 champions leagues and infinite Dutch championships even though their whole business model is to sell players.

Despite being a Real Madrid fan, I managed to watch the vast majority of Man City's matches last season. And although they're an incredible team, if I had to criticize them for something, it's that they looked really complacent between their loss to Liverpool and the start of the world cup. Bernardo Silva and Haaland were perhaps the only two players on the team who could hold their heads high during that period of time, and it amuses me a little bit that Haaland gets criticized for his lack of excellence during the business end of the season, considering how much he and Bernardo worked their asses of to compensate for the rest of the team being out of form during the first half of it. Just goes to show that stepping up your game during the last 2 months or so leaves the strongest impact in the eyes of most football fans. It doesn't seem to matter as much what you do up to that point. Speaking of Haaland, it might be the other way around for him this season. Despite his 9 goals in 9 games, he wasn't featured in their loss against Newcastle in the cup, and he's looked like a shadow of himself before their recent win over Brighton. Maybe his slow start will allow him to conserve more energy for a strong end to the 2024 season.

A humble, world class, generational goal scorer is never the problem. The problem was the mindset of Daniel Levy, who thought that while he still had Kane, he needed to win trophies, so he hired world class trophy winning managers like Mourinho and Conte that are used to working with a near finished product. Spurs is anything but that. Now he sold Kane and got sense knocked into him to appoint a manager that can grow a team. If he had that sense earlier, they would have at least an FA cup/Europa, surely.

This is where I run into a problem with all this; back in the day, 30 years ago, I poked around football but never really got into it. I knew who Man U was, mainly because my girlfriend, like most girls at the time, was in love with Beckham, so I paid attention to just them. Fast-forward to now, and I am just getting back to being interested and watching matches vs the NFL mainly because fantasy football (NFL) ruined me on teams and just watching players, that, and all the political stuff they have dived into over the years. I sat down and looked at all the teams, which completely threw me off how many clubs there were in the UK and mainly in England. It took me days to read about them, their history which I am still doing. I started to look at the nicknames. How can you not like names like the Villians, the Gunners, the Red Devils, the Red Dragons, or the Club names like Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton, Manchester United, and, of course, Wrexham? At the end of the day, Wrexham is the only one I have been trying to keep up with. Still, I spend more time watching everyone else because I get more coverage, and I get more coverage of the Euro League than I do for Wrexham. So I am not sure who my team is yet because I feel like I am betraying one over the other. I am just honestly having fun learning about it all and trying to understand what's happening on the pitch, listening to talk sports during the day (in the US), and getting different views and opinions from all the pundits.
