A lot of people think that Embrace Darkness is garbage because the opponent could just use a spell on their own minion and get the Deathrattle, even if you have nothing on board to kill it. My argument is that a 6-Mana card that destroys an enemy minion and discards a removal spell from your opponent is fantastic.

just saw this on twitter but with the priest death knight, raza and Velen, you can play on turn 9 or 10; Hero power (2) Velen, hero power (4) mind blast (10) hero power (4). so with the setup, and with only two cards required in hand, you can do 20 damage in one turn for 9 mana.

50:48 you can look at it as just a solid mid game minion with added potential. Where its always at least ok in games where you wanna control the board, and sometimes used as a finisher or removal when the situation is right. Fits in with the more midrange trading style of rouge cards coming out

52:26 Important to note regarding Shadow Reflection that the copied card disappears at the end of each turn. Effectively you cannot copy a card that costs more than 5 mana, because otherwise you won't be able to play it. Lilian Voss isn't really a thief. She's an excommunicated Scarlet Crusader who has this odd Arcane/Void magic that she uses to kill people. She seems to teleport around, which could be more blink in tandem with stealth. She definitely has this sneaky spellblade aesthetic; which is likely where her battlecry is derived from.

Kibler poisonous now works with deathrattle, so plague scientist could clear an entire board with pyromancer or something like tentacle of N'zoth. I think that is the card's primary constructed application and the trade up is a bonus.

The paladin cards that gain stuff when friendly minions lose divine shield, just cobalt mech (gains divine shield whenever you summon a mech) and have things like annoyotron. The bone baron is going to have a lot of use with Crystal core, playing a cheap skeleton to get your combos off, Edwin Vancleef is going to love it.

Kibler (or anyone else who is willing to answer) have you thought of implications with Embrace Darkness? I know Blizzard is infamous with their inaccurate card wordings, but the way the card seems, if your opponent takes control of the minion back using Mind Control or Embrace Darkness, it will return back to you at the start of your turn. That means that if the enemy priest in the mirror matchup plays Embrace Darkness they can permanently "lock" a minion by making it go back and forth between each player, if the wording truly means this. This may seem like a meme thing, but Priest v Priest is a very hard matchup where the person with most resources wins and this can be important info.

I think Bolvar is going to make paladin insane this season. One of the biggest problems with Paladin is that it loses tempo on turn 5. It didn't have a good 5 drop, which is why you would see things like Rhino or Elise in Paladin decks that's didn't really synergies with those cards. A *reasonable* 5 drop minion would be great for Paladin, but Bolvar is a GOOD card, hard to kill, and probably lives to see SRS. Following a Steeded Bolvar with Rag, Tyrion, or Uther will be great ways to close out value oriented games. A lot of his value isn't so much him as a minion but the context in which he lives.

You don't necessarily need to otk with Uther. Just the threat of a auction master beardo and random spell is enough. You have 2 horsemen on the board which should happen decently often enough. Opponent still thinks they're safe. Then boom dead.

Jesse Stark shadowform changes your hero power, so no, it doesn't stack. Though they have similar themes, playing shadowform with DK Anduin essentially makes the DK useless.

I like Devour Mind over Thoughtsteal specifically because it is a 5 drop. At three mana, TS tends to eat slots you may want for dealing with faster decks in the early game and often does not generate near enough card advantage against slower decks to warrant the slot.

This is why it is better at 5 mana. You can stick it in a control/late game slot in your deck and get better value than TS gave rather than having it compete for a 3 mana slot.

i think plague scientist is going to see play just becouse of patches: turn 4 you play your 1/1 that generates a card summon patches and kill a minion and since you got a card back thats basicly 1 card 4mana 1/1 + 2/3 + kill a minion , also it´s the best way to make use of patches if u draw him in your starting hand.

Dr Boom is not as common as people think in wild. Wild is more for crazy combo decks or powering up cool decks with OP GvG class cards. Tryhard wankers playing Pirate Warrior w/Ship's Cannon is the only broken deck I see alot in wild, but I beat it often enough that it doesn't ruin the format for me.

totally agree with you on the paladin cards (pala main since beta), i think also bolvar is a sleeper and he isnt as high valued as tirion, but he is a good midrange drop, thats kinda helps the pala to get more value on the board (and from the enemy side off the board =) i included some of the cards of paladin in my actual selfmade controlpally and we will see how they work out, but i rate them as highly impactfull ^.- have a nice day and thanks for the great content, keep it goin +++

I have a control priest deck, actually it is pretty similar to one of yours. It is doing really nicely against everything(pre nerf quest rogue included, no rats) and 1 thing that was limiting my deck is card draw. Not in the sense of not having enough, but not beeing able to use it, but getting too close to fatigue too fast, while i would have needed the draw to win. Actually in a scenario like this i can cycle my whole deck, and drop benedictus, and still win and never run out of fuel. Btw you are probably the only other person who sees uses in a lot of cards i do and noone else does. Guess good control priest players is a non existent type of player.

Most of this xpac seems pretty balanced and interesting, though aggro Druid may be getting too many unintentional tools (imo). In order to really promote new deck growth though, I believe that a few cards need immediate HoF relocation: Gadgetzan Auctioneer: This card was so powerful that it was nerfed, and it still made a comeback to see regular play after a short hiatus, and not many cards can claim that (outliers being Sylvanas and Leroy). It is the "unfair engine in two powerful decks, and often just seems like a problem for the game when Blizz likes to talk about interactivity. Ice Block: This card is so incredibly toxic that I believe that it should have been HoF'd with the first batch of HoF cards. Blizz removes Ice Lance when Ice Block, and to some extent Alexstraza, were the actual problem with Freeze/Burn Mage. At the very least, make it a "Legendary" spell or non-discoverable through spell generation cards. Fighting through two is bad enough as is, and has led to the inclusion of Eater of Secrets in nearly every deck that I use now due to the prevalence of Mage on ladder which speaks to Ice Block's overpowered status. I may be forgetting some other offenders, but these two come to mind immediately. I debated adding Southsea Deckhand to this list, but he at the very least can be countered with board interaction (i.e. taunts and the like). Also, great review as always!
