Thing is he really didn't need to sap strider he had something to trade with it on board. He could have sapped the pyromancer which would have given far less stats. I mean he knew it was going late and a strider is essentially a 16/16 worth of stats in a long game.

I did that once it was insane. I was running a deck focusing on strider & lab recruiter & i just threw espionage in there for fun. I played espionage on turn 4, did my little strider --> lab recruiter --> return to hand --> repeat. then but turn 7 i drew a one cost shudderwock and AHHAHA SO MANY SPIDERS.

not to mention i still had brewmaster and shadowstep to use on the shudderwock, every turn I would fill my board then return shudderwock to my hand.

To be fair, those spiders weren't stolen, they were basically gifted, since you gave Faldorei to your opponent with Sap. I demand the change of title.

Well, Faldorei without battlecry is just an innocent 4/4, it was that sap that made it into a gazillion 4/4 spooders. Still demand title change.

He could have traded into the spider, so Grumble would make no difference, because Faldorei would have been dead so Grumble wouldn't bounce it back. He chose to trade into Pyromancer instead. He could have traded into Faldorei and sapped Pyro. But that's beside the point, the play he made was correct at the time, I honestly just posted my comment for fun, as a joke. Let's not be so serious

I play a version of this myself. It does struggle against aggro decks like the ones you mention above. It is definitely more effective in control matchups. His version looks a little better against aggro than mine with the agents, fire flies, and thugs, but this deck definitely prefers to go against a deck that wants to go into the long game.
