My personal GOAT. The way he sees the game highlights the special tactical edge that siege has. In a game with so much creativity in the tactics you can employ, having certainty on which actions to take next is more valuable than being able to figure out the perfect strat. Canadian is a leader through and through and his teammates buy into his vision. Thats way more valuable that people give it credit.

12:40 Watching this live was by the far the most depressing PL moment, imo. I can not tell you sad I was. They were beating this insane juggernaut that came out of nowhere, they were coming up on the rise (I was a fan after 2018 Invitational), and then this looked like nothing short of light at the end of the tunnel. And then....

I well and truly believe as an SSG fan that the "retirement" by Canadian was a way to get away from Rampy who as would become pretty clear had a mutual dislike for him. Rampy really brought down not one but two SSG rosters (the second being the Skys roster from 2021)

Really? What was his deal?
@anonymousanonymity2815

@@lilwill8800 Rampy and Canadian pretty clearly had issues, Rampy was a guy who would constantly get extremely tilted (you could tell just by watching the gameplay it was that bad) when games were going poorly which is a really poor personality trait, Canadian has had no issues on other rosters so he’s clearly not a problem, also lycan said when the skys team fell apart that it was probably time to talk about the problem being Rampy.

Btw where was Fabian in vitality team?why was vitality in 2020 was such a medicore team in Fabian igling?cadian took far worst team and made them world champs look at eg,SSG and even dz.

Fabian is nothing short of amazing but Goga, best support at his prime, Kanto, best fragger at his prime, SHA77E, one of the top fraggers, Joonas, top Flex player, Pengu, one of the best players to grace the game, Shas, hands down best coach and best boi. Fabian had everything plus an extremely good style and drive and passion, but Canadian had all that but not ideal rosters.

I have a couple of criticisms with the video, I feel you glossed over a couple of important details for the sake of brevity. 1). Milan was not the reason Canadian left EG. Sure they lost in horrific fashion but (at least in my opinion) there was a little bit of momentum, Milan was the first time EG had actually placed well at an international tournament in over half a year let alone competing in a grand final. At the half way mark of Season 10 heading into Raleigh they were in 3rd place, certainly not the height of their performance history but still not bad. What killed any momentum EG had was their abysmal placement at Raleigh, which was 12th-9th exiting 3rd in their group; by far EG's worst international showing bar none. 2). When Canadian initially joined SSG they were incredibly middling. At Dreamhack Montreal 2019 they lost in the first round of playoff's to EG no less; in the second split of season 10 SSG ended their season in 5th with 5 draws to their name, hence the nickname "Drawstation". This to me is incredibly important context to the story of SSG's meteoric rise. Because they hadn't qualified via Tokaname it was do-or-die for SSG if they wanted to make SI. They had two more chances, OGA Pit S3 and the NA online LCQ. Through the OGA Pit quals they went undefeated, not dropping a single map. At the LAN finals they fought through the lower bracket to face Liquid in the grand finals, eventually loosing 3-1 (I should mention Liquid had that bullshit one map advantage). Things then played out as you mentioned, SSG winning USN and qualifying for SI2020 through the LCQ. What you don't mention was the timing of all this: The GF match against Liquid was on December 8th, USN started on December 13th, the SI2020 LCQ started on December 17th. After loosing to Liquid, SSG immediately flew from Croatia all the way to Las Vegas to compete at USN, only five days separating their loss to Liquid. SSG then won USN in flawless fashion, not just undefeated but without dropping a single map. And again, another five days later they were competing in the LCQ and playing against teams who just watched them compete in 2 separate tournaments in the past 2 weeks. SSG went undefeated in the LCQ, only dropping a single map in the entire tournament to Luminosity in the Grand Final. 3).SSG opened SI2020 with Rampy dropping an Ace in the very first round against Navi, who were the reigning Tokoname champions at the time. -SSG fought and beat TSM twice at SI, once in the second round of groups and another in the winner bracket finals. (insert "why am I so much fucking better then you" clip) -This one actually annoyed me a bit, you said "let the gameplay speak for itself" but don't include ThinkinNade/Rampy's clutches which SSG have said were incredibly vital rounds in that final. 4).SSG's performance through the 2020 season was bad (in no small part due to COVID forcing everything online/no international competition). Yeah they technically qualified for both Major's but that doesn't really matter a whole lot since they weren't international; 3rd out of 4 teams competing isn't that impressive. With all that said, Canadian's anime redemption arc was fantastically executed and his win at the Charlette major truly cemented him as one of the greatest IGL's in Siege history, if not ESports in general. Winning a single international championship is more then most players will ever accomplish their careers, winning 4 international championships with 3 different rosters in 3 different meta's is on a separate level entirely.
