Just got the 4.35 BMS update and I am hoping that your profile still works with this version. Thanks for making your profile downloadable and perhaps even more important taking the trouble to explain the install and logic behind the profile. Much appreciated!

Hi Garry, I use your VA a lot and I'm verry happy with your profile. Ttried other profiles, but yours works the best for me. The latest version, BMS436VAFish, has some differences, regarding the voice comm and the action that follows: When holding short on the runway and ready for departure: 'Tower' (menu popsup) 'Ready for departure' (menu disappeares), but no confirmation from the Tower ('You're cleared for take off') follows. When airborn and contact 'Departure' (switch to UFH 4) the 'Common'-menu popsup with 'QNH', instead of the menu 'Airborn' When contacting 'Approach' (menu popsup) and make the voice comm 'Unrestricted Approach', no confirmation from the approach/tower follows Unfortunately I don't know how to solve this and you as the developer and expert... maybe you can look in to it? Thank you in advance, appreciated 🙂

Thanks for your comments. I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble with this. I'm using BMS 4.37.2, and have just checked both actions mentioned below and both behaved as expected. I also confirmed accuracy from the profile and the menu.dat file. The only thing i can think of is that your menu.dat file does not match the one supplied with the profile. As per installation instructions, you must use the menu.dat file from the profile, to get accurate functionality. If your still having trouble, I suggest you reply to my post on the BMS forum, as I and others will be able to give you better support from there. forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/24368/fish-s-voiceattack-commands

i am so frustrated....i can't figure it out HOW and where to load the files... and what files? I am new to BMS and is so hard to find good stuff..so please help!

I'm not sure exactly what files you are referring to, but if you are new to BMS, I strongly recommend you head over to forum.falcon-bms.com/ its got everything you need and members are very helpful. I would not recommend you bother with Voice attack until you are fairly familiar with BMS and have a better understanding of your needs. My profile is not for beginners, but you can find it in the video description.

@@gerryabbott GREETINGS I already play DCS f16, so I know something...I know there are differences here. I downloaded your file that you provided in the link. I also have a voice attack that I also use from time to time. There are a lot of files in the link, so I downloaded everything. :) So now I'm wondering where I have to unpack to be able to use this profile.!

Wow Gary! Thank you for this wonderful profile. This is the total package and "ready to go". Very happy about it. And that soundbeep is also a nice feature. Of course a question? Is it possible to have two PTT joystick buttons in VA? I have a Thrustmaster Cougar HOTAS and wonder if UHF and VHF can be assigned/programmed seperately in VA. In that case comms with the Tower, Tanker, AWACS and so on are broadcasted through UHF and IVC comms (Wingman and/or Element comms) are done with VHF. Now, I use your profile, but all Comms are done with UHF (my VA setup) and it would be nice to have them programmed seperately in VA. I hope you understand what I mean. Thank you and regards.

No.AFAIK. I use a key napper (aurohotkey) which allows a HID device (e.g. joystick) to generate keyboard commands, so 1 or many buttons can generate the PTT sequence or key combination..
@nicovelthuijsen3 жыл бұрын
Roger that, Gary. Your proflie is very ok, so it's all good. I shall look into Aurohotkey. Thank you for your reply.

Well Gerry, I found an in-between solution that works for me. In BMS 'Home' is assigned to UHF and 'End' to VHF. In VA I assigned 'Home' as a joystick button (21 on the HOTAS) as UHF. Then I assigned keyboard button 'End' as VHF. With this setup in VA your profile can be used both for UHF and VHF. So, with this setup in VA your voice commands can be done using the HOTAS and choose the required voice (broadcast) Comms channel: UHF or VHF. That's what I had in mind.

Hi Gerry, another great video. I'm struggling with the beep.mp3 file as I get this message on the VA software after saying "Tower"...Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\VoiceAttack\Sounds\beeps\beep.mp3'. The file is located correctly and it won't work without the Steam path. The Tower menu appears in game but nothing voice selects after that. I'm using a Soundblaster X7 with an internal mic array which works 100% on everything else, even Discord and IVC. Any advice?
@gerryabbott4 жыл бұрын
@Khalid Issue is with the steam path I would guess. The profile path string is {VA_SOUNDS}\beeps\beeploud.mp3, and the first part represents the path to and including Voice attack and its sounds folder. So it does not matter if its steam or windows install. You must have 'beep.mp3' in the '....\VoiceAttack\Sounds\beeps\' folder (where '.....' is the steam path). If you are still having issues, suggest choose a command, and drill down to it with the editor in VA, until you can see the sound command, and 'edit' to see where VA is pointing to see it. Worst case you might have to re-point the sound commands to the file.

Just wondering if there is any chance of updating this profile for BMS 4.36? The latest version seems to be mixing up some of the commands.

Hello, what cocpit do you use? Mine behaves differently... Am I seeing correctly that COM1 and COM2 as well as other ICP buttons are visually being pushed while you click on them?
@gerryabbott5 жыл бұрын
Same pit, just default BMS434. Using two different inputs to ICP, either mouse click, @ 2:00 …... .or iHOpi's ICP/DED server app from a tablet @ 6:00 (highly recommended).

How is it that your VA or speech engine able to recognize commands so smoothly? Despite I have trained the Windows speech engine, I have to repeat commands at twice most of the time.
@gerryabbott4 жыл бұрын
Don't know your setup, but I've had a couple of issues with mine. First was with software, and a full re-install of VA sorted it (make sure to export you profiles first). Second was more subtle, and was hardware, with a cloud flight x headset. The mic does some noise cancelling and voice activation, and this clipped the sound, so VA would not recognise. Drove me crazy. Had to go back to my wired headset, game zero. Advice is to identify if its hardware or software, and debug from there.
