Do you think it was better to have that service plan? It helps so many people now that it serves West End (which now has 24/7 access to Grand Street and Manhattan in general without transfers) while Brighton has full-time Broadway line service, like in the pre-chrystie era. Also getting to Brooklyn on the weekends would be dreadful, since the B would only go south of Atlantic (not like it could go to Queensbridge any more since it's now a thru station) and that would complicate the routing of N trains. Not to mention it's less confusing now, since there isn't as much variation in terms of time of day. Brighton Express is a weekday service, as is the supplemental CPW/Concourse train, so they are easily combined into a single route that simply does not operate on weekends.

@MqchaXD I would have the "B" and "D" both on West End with the "B" running express during rush hours and then have the "Q" Local and Express.

I miss this era of the Brighton Line...Q with the r68a's and then many months later B and Q switch fleets(between r 40 slants and r68a's) with the B and C lines switching northern terminals

The short answer is that Brighton Line riders wanted the trains to go to Broadway full time, while the West End Line riders wanted the trains to go to Manhattan full time. Thus D moved to West End Line.

I agree, it's a underrated train, obviously the r32 was iconic but the 68’s are the youngest oldest train we can hold on to from the BMT that's from that era since the r 46’s are retiring soon
