Thanks matt and zoe for another informative video.taking a passenger is a whole different ball game to riding solo,and its useful to see you highlighting that.keep up the good work.

Thanks mate, it's hard to explain to people how much it changes the bikes dynamic when 2 up until they try it themselves. Glad you enjoyed the video anyway. Keep up with the nice comments and I might be able to get Zoe out on some more 2 up videos.

This is a great format for a video, normally bike reviews do not bother mentioning pillion comfort, where it is a crucial part for me, and for bikes in this sector of the market. Thanks Both.

Glad you liked it David, we also noticed a gap in the market as they say regarding other channels going a 2 up style review of a bike. This is why we've started doing it and will continue this going forward. There are so many people out there that only ride as a pillion so it might be nice for them to get a heads up before they go out on it as well as the rider watching reviews on the bike. Ride safe.
@lestersmyth692 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback, interesting topic having ridden for 40+ years I can honestly say I’ve perhaps ridden pillion a dozen times mainly when I was younger. I believe the “RT” (Not the RS…) is one of the better bikes for two up but you would certainly need to ensure the suspension is set accordingly otherwise you will experience instability. Keep up the good work guys and girls 😊
@DSR1YT Жыл бұрын
I blame Zoe for saying RS in her section of the video, not my fault for calling it that when filming 😆. Glad this style of 2up reviews is liked by you guys. With both me and Zoe working full time it's hard for us both to get out at the same time. Will do our best though 😀

Cheers mate, definitely a gap in the video market for 2 up review style videos. Hopefully we can plug it :)
@garyogden5873 Жыл бұрын
Yep, I appreciate you did a full review as a rider only but someone like me looking to buy a touring bike and who has to take pillion passenger, bike handling etc into consideration could be misled. I am waiting the delivery of my RT sometime in March and I found similar to you two up in road mode but all that settled down in dynamic. Keep up the reviews👍
@DSR1YT11 ай бұрын
Well it's good to know that was a simple fix, my bad for not finding it :). Zoe gives me a limited amount of her time to go riding with her :). That's why I tend to do the full reviews by myself and then these shorter style 2 up videos with her.

I am in the market for a touring bike with pillion comfort as the number 1 criteria, which is how I came across this review. It was quite interesting to see that the 1250 needed a few revs initially and that pillion ergonomics were good but not great. I was wondering if you had a chance to test ride the goldwing?
@DSR1YT3 күн бұрын
Thanks mate. Sadly my Honda dealership I work with don’t have the gold wing to test out. 🤙

Gosh Zoe looked so sophisticated with her hair up. I think she was keen to sound us all out on the mic issue 💥! I’ve never been to that dealer in Bristol. Great review I enjoyed it. have you thought about testing out a bike a night for headlight effectiveness/night riding
@DSR1YT11 ай бұрын
Haha don’t give her too many compliments David, she’ll get big headed 🤣. Glad you enjoyed it though mate, again we like trying this slightly different style of 2 up review. I have actually got a night video noted down on my ‘videos to do ‘ list. See how good the gsa lights are at night. Also another video at night is to test the go pro vs 360 vs motorcycle dashcam. Stay tuned 😁🤙

Why do you write 1250RS as Zoe also says….lokes like a 1250RT
@DSR1YT3 ай бұрын
As you can tell by the title and thumbnail it’s the RT. I’d accidentally mentioned the RS before we filmed this and that’s what stuck in her head. Everything she said was about the RT because she’s never been on the RS. Hence why I also pointed out the mistake in the video. But glad you took the time to point this out 😁.
@cubatime727 ай бұрын
So, were the pillion comments about an RT or an RS?
@DSR1YT7 ай бұрын
I did clarify in the video but she was on about the RT. We’ve not been on the RS together 😁🤙

Why didn't you put the bike in dynamic mode? That would have sorted out the 'bouncing'. Most people reviewing the bike point out the different modes!!
@DSR1YT Жыл бұрын
As mentioned at the start of the video, I’ve done a full review of this bike by myself where I go through everything. This is just a quick 2 up video / review of the bike. I’ll remember the dynamic mode for next time one a bmw 🤙

Topbox with seat cushion helps passenger massively

But the topbox would invalidate her first point, which is ease of access to the back seat. I have an RT, and a topcase, and it's a whole procedure for my wife to get on and off the bike.

@@DSR1YT they can pull one from either the parts department or another bike, almost all model year from 2012 and up will work even the GTL box will work. I told them before I got there I needed one for the test ride and the scrounged one up.

Asa pillion try holding onto the rider with your thighs and then put your hands on your own knees, if other options are not available. The hands on the knees support your upper body and your thighs stop you sliding backwards and forwards.

@paulcollins7185 Жыл бұрын
The bike is much much better in dynamic mode and allows for extremely smooth riding and excellent throttle response and excellent handling, much superior to road mode in my view in every sense. It is the best bike for on road touring two up or solo and only bettered in comfort by perhaps the Goldwing. It is best with touring having two people on it having the top box designed for the RT fitted.

In her defence, her section was filmed 2 months after the riding was filmed, before we started filming I had said RS by mistake, and that stuck in her mind. She knows she was on the RT I promise, :). We have ridden the RS 2 up yet, maybe this summer we will get out on that as well.
