Nice review I have similar mods, but I did also go with rally raid rims and suspension. and for a bit more torque changed front and rear sprocket, just did a 4200 mile trip and the only thing I can complain about is the top end on the open highway when it was 107 degrees outside I had to back off and keep it under 70 MPH to keep the temperature down. I road this bike hard it’s built like a little tank. I did have the engine stall on me but only early on. It’s a great little bike well put together for a great price

You seem ride on dirt quite a bit! I used mine on a more decent roads and would strongly recommend a puig visor (either clip on or bolt on) a hugger and a rear mudguard from Ali express, and a front mudwing extension. Life is so much cleaner with them ))

Visor..Yes it does seem to lack decent mud guard on rear. I will look at that.

Nice review. Just bought mine in october, it is due to arrive in Portugal in mid January 2023, since it was built and shipped from the USA, they used to be built in India, cant wait to ride it and have some fun with it. For my need its just perfect atm. Keep the waiting buying mods for it lol. Keep up the good work

I bought that exact same phone mount but mine rattled like crazy if my phone wasn't in it so I had to makeshift a phone sized piece of cardboard wrapped in duct tape. Seems to silence it up. Interesting little detail there with the highway pegs on the crash bar. Nice to stretch out the legs every now and then.

Great summary. Couple of questions: (1) Looks like no center stand. Thoughts / plans? (2) For highway travels with no cruise control--do you just manage the wrist tension. Plans for a mechanical control? (3) Fuel tank is pretty small for adventure travel despite the excellent fuel economy. Any thoughts? (4) You size and weight would be helpful to scale fitment. BTW: I have a 850GS now, which was a step down from what I had prior, a Triumph 1200 XRT (Explorer/Tiger). The 310 interests me b/c I want to go lighter / smaller just for ease of handling, and self-care (picking up drops--one so far on the 850 but I had 5 or so on the Triumph and always needed lift rescue, typically by fellow bikers, which amazingly always happened even in some remote places). I'm afraid I'd miss the e-cruise control, and the great power (90+ hp) and torque with silky smooth RPM, and great highway stability. I did, once, out of necessity (as I saw it) do 815 miles in one day on the 850, and 23,500 miles in 99 continuous days on the Triumph (four corners of the lower 48 plus all over Alaska). Never plan to do anything like either one again but it's a great feeling to know that escaping inclement incoming weather or a home emergency that such is possible (or if a distant dream destination calls me again before it's too late...I'm in my late 70s now, alas). I have website that covers that 99 day 4-corner trip that includes Alaska; I can provide a link if interested, but it's off topic unless there are some fellow real old guys that follow your channel.

No plans for a center stand. I'm 6'1" 210lbs. No plans for a cruise control, I've only seen mechanical cruise controls for the 310. The smaller gas tank pairs with the small engine for a over 200 miles between fillups and keeps the weight down for more technical off roading. Sounds like you've logged some serious time on the bikes.

I got a GLoop 1 gal gas bag to raise capacity just incase. Mechanical throttle stops are fine, I will get one. Be nice to have a center stand although the center of gravity may be awkwardly high..it my first bike without one. Avoiding inclement weather is achievable with internet connections showing live doppler etc I plan to do long trips with shorter legs and relax a bit and avoid boring long stretches.Deadhorse might be the only exception. 78mpg so far just doing local rides and its surprisingly comfy.. 5 seven.

I'm thinking of buying an adventure motorcycle, I have the GS in mind but I don't know how it behaves on highways loaded with a passenger, its engine is enough for that. for this reason I can't decide if the GS or look for some option 500 to 600

Hei, What is the brand of the sit cushion? It helps with the vibration ? or only to make the seat more confortable? Thx
@deron292 жыл бұрын
Just makes it more comfortable. I don't remember the brand. It has little inflatable air pockets
@starlordstarlordman8489 Жыл бұрын
Airhawk makes one. It has made all the difference on my Himalayan, but you have to get the pressure right. Too much it’s too stiff like a board, too little and it doesn’t support you at all.

If you are seriously looking for a 310gs bear in mind that 2020 got ABSoff button which became no longer available on the 2021 version, but the latter is sooo much smoother at low RPMs due to TBW.

I'm looking at buying one and I noticed that the heel of my boot on the right side just hits the exhaust pipe heat shield....and I don't have big feet! I can't imagine this isn't an issue for others? It's stock pegs on the showroom floor and they don't come out very far, so I would change them out for off-road pegs, which may get me clear of it. But have you had this issue? Also, do you know which windshield you put on? Thanks for your time!

I like the color combination of your model. I have a 2019 that i purchased a few months ago. Have put on 1500 miles or so and am enjoying it. Would be great with a little more pickup and go, I wish I felt more comfortable off road but I guess its all about compromises. I have the 805 on mine and it is sheer butthole pucker in the mud, crazy lateral movement under throttle. I would like to find something that is a little better than the 805 for the replacement also. Suspension is a bit scary offroad too in anything less than a standing position, I am about 20lbs heavier than you. Overall, I am enjoying the bike, it accomplishes exactly what I purchased it for, but I do find myself wanting more in some areas....then I think about what I would trade off by going for a bigger bike and go back to work... If it were just twice the HP and torque, 75 lbs lighter with a high end WP suspension and a little smoother on high speed highway.....lol

The first thing I'd do is get a rear fender eliminator it looks like ass stock. Then get any cheap slip on muffler.
