Great vid! e92 are my favorite bimmers. I also owned two and also sold my last after 5 years of owning.. but both were 6 pots, 325D and 325i. The first one was stolen from me after just 6 months of ownership. Now I'm after Mercedes SL or Z4 coupe. But my heart is with e92, they look so good and so modern, a really timeless design. I'm 100% getting another one in the future, still missing it obviously since I'm checking th YT vids of them lol.. btw, never had a single issue with them. Previously I also owned two of e46 coupes, 318i and 325i, also not a single issue, owned both for cca 2,5 years each.

It’s a really wonderful car, and with a 6 cylinder even better. 330d with a manual gearbox is so good!! Perhaps an M3 is next for you

@LEWZR4 жыл бұрын
@@connormccarthy2225 it's held up well, although I'm selling to upgrade to a M235i. Loved the car but it's just not exciting enough for me and I don't need something economical so upgrading to something a little more silly

@@LEWZR Well you are a lucky chap. Congratulations they're stunning cars and see alot more m2s on the road than them! I'm only 22 and this will be my second car but nothing catches my eye like the e92's, and 320d's and 320i's are really the only ones in my budget with insurance too but have heard the engines can be problematic did you have any trouble with it at all in ur ownership and are you in the UK too mate?
@LEWZR4 жыл бұрын
@@connormccarthy2225 I'm 22 also! Yeah im in the UK near Nottingham. They're great engines if you get one that has had the timing chain changed with proof, that's the most important thing to look out for. If you get one with decent history and a new timing change then it'll last you a life time

Hey, great video! I also got a manual e92 320d but from 2007 with about 130k km. First owner still but kind of heavily scratched throughout the years unfortunately. This car is just amazing. Never selling it! I remember driving it once on one tank of fuel from Antwerp, Belgium to Perpignan, France (it was really close to being fully empty, lol)

One mistake mate, radar cruise control is working with manual gearboxes completely normal. It is not an usual spec, but there are plenty of cars and manufacturers, where you can order a car with radar cruise control and manual gearbox, you just have to change the gears by yourself. Otherwise great review

Travar nos botões até é raro. Os primeiros e92 manuais com cruise control não travavam, apenas iam reduzindo a velocidade por cortar a aceleração. Em descidas embalavam

Hi, great to see reviews from actual owners speaking from long experience. I’ve been thinking to get 2013 e92 320d which has about 50k kms. But all the reviews point out timing chain or carbon buildup issues. Some say those issues have been sorted out in 2013 models. What are your thoughts?
@DriftingSquirrel4 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed! Well, I think they haven’t really been addressed for the e9x generation. The n47n was supposed to fix the issue, and it didn’t. Proper maintenance goes a long way, but it can break. Carbon build up is true, but as I said, keep an eye for those two things and you’ll enjoy it very much

@@DriftingSquirrelI think those whole thing about facelift versions being updated/corrected with engine or transmission issues is a myth.
@DriftingSquirrel7 ай бұрын
It really depends… there are many times differences, but they don’t have the expected effect. I know plenty of people with N47 engines that never had an issue with hundreds of thousands of km. The randomness really is scary 😂

I'm not Portuguese but I do live here in this beautiful country, how much do you tend to spend on a monthly/annual basis on this car here in Portugal? Also, the review is very nice and very good English skills, loved it. About the carbon build-up problem, I hear you can just clean it and it will work just like a new one.
@DriftingSquirrel3 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoy the beauty of the country! Well, 250€ for annual tax, 250€ for annual insurance (depends on many factors), 200-300€ for regular maintenance at BMW and fuel. It’s quite a frugal car to own, all things considered. About the carbon build-up, I was somewhat aware that you could to that, but I didn’t want to risk it. Still, I have my old one and will clean it and put it up for sale. Thank you for your kind words!

I have assymetric 3 in my front wheels, and Potenza s001 rear. Do you recommend assymetric 3 in all of them, better than Potenza s001 in the four wheels? What about 225-255? It's better all of them in 225 to make it possible the change between them?
@DriftingSquirrel4 жыл бұрын
Alberto Escobar depends on which car you’ve got. This 320d has 225 at the front and 255 at the rear. I can’t rotate tires but the fronts last me two sets of the rear. I much prefer the asymmetric 3

damn im shocked thought that 2011 got hydraulic steering wheel and that they started with electric ones on f30 .... do you maybe know mate does they have hydraulic on 2010y since i wouldnt go on 2009 because of engine chain failure issues ?
@DriftingSquirrel4 жыл бұрын
If I'm not mistaken, electric steering was added to the e9x generation in 2006, so all of them (expect M3 as far as I'm aware), have EPS. They can all fail. On time oil changes, turning the car on and letting it idle for 10-20 seconds, not flooring it when cold, etc, will all go a long way towards the longevity of the chain. Still, it can happen.
@Brian-jv8iy2 жыл бұрын
Nothing has changed in regard to the timing chain from the first N47 up to the current B47. E92 got electric steering about when LCI was unveiled.
