My M235i has not started a couple of times and othertimes its been slowto crank. Battery is 90%, Alternator is fine so I suspect the stop/start fuction has started to wear out the starter. Shit scared to drive it anywhere and turn it off so bought a new starter. As Usual BMW make it so difficult to get to the starter. haha thanks for the upload and wish me luck

Great video! My starter is the original one from 2007 so it lasted a REALLY long time. I hope it's a Bosch!!!

And i paid for two batteries in 2023, due to the first battery got that done, then four months later the alternater went out, and the warranty on the four months battery was not credited credited

I have a 335i 2007 manual drive sadan. I replaced the starter 08312019, by bmw. Should I be having trouble with the car staring in 2024?

So my 2011 335i just started acting funny,, when i hit the start button it doesnt crank just like a whinning noise coming from the engine bay and it will do that 4-6 times then finally start. Any idea?? Changed the starter relay and that didnt help.

When I jump my car (I thought it was dead) I hear the ignition doing it’s thing, at first I thought it was cranking but not starting, but now i got a second opinion from a friend and when she listened to the engine she said that the engine in fact ISNT CRANKING she says that the sound is coming from the back of the engine near the trans ish area. I’m guessing this is where the starter is at so my question is 1)is the starter bad? 2)is it my flywheel that’s not engaging the starter? (Auto Trans btw)

It's most likely the starter but I would have a mechanic look at it just to be sure rather than a friend, hope this helps 👍🏾

What symptoms did you have before it went out? And how many miles, nice video keep it up 👌

It happened around 90k miles and before it finally went it used to have a small delay before start up, but never stalled

Hey i have the same car also with n55 engine I have also a small delay wenn starts I mean not full power at the beginning It needs 1,2 seconds and then starts It was also your problem?

@@fgl_noize LMFAO I’m having the same issue, I’m positive it’s the starter but just in case check your battery first if that’s good then it should be your starter

If it’s hesitant at startup most likely it will be the starter going out, but I would also check your battery first and spark plugs

I would check to see if your fuel pump is priming and functioning properly. Also, scan the car and see if you have any current fault codes that could lead to the exact problem.

Man you did nothing show us how to remove the damn wires off the intake there was 2 bolts at the lower right of the intake that had to be removed that you didnt show

We used a mechanical torque wrench to tighten the bolts off camera. The rear bolt that is hard to reach can also be tightened by "feel" if you are experienced enough with judging fastener tightness.
