BMW 335i With Cheap 17T Turbos Challenges My Single Turbo E90!

It's time to have a little bit of fun. Now that my e90 BMW 335i is running perfect, it's time to put her to the test against another car. Aaly's E90 from ‪@SwapDepot‬ is the first official challenger. Unlike my single turbo setup, he is running extremely affordable Chinese 17T turbos that pack a punch! It's important to keep in mind that is my first race with the E90, so it was more of a learning experience to prepare for more powerful challengers. I also wanted to keep brake boosting to a minimum as you will see in the video.

I’ve been brake boosting my DR700 car and with new brakes installed they’ve lasted 5,000 miles and need replacing. You should really get anti lag. Also a snack cat should be an easy win for you since even I’m beating them without PI on E40 fuel.

Now that MHD has the Anti Lag feature there shouldn't be any need to brake boost and should even up any concerns with advantages with faster spool. BUT that's what I thought the whole thing was about! To see which system of turbo charging has it's advantages and weaknesses etc. Why wouldn't you just use whatever the cars are capable of so everyone can see what's possible or faster cheaper etc. ?? I love the channel thank you!!

We know how Aaly feels with regards to people not believing him. We just installed Viv 17t’s (6x6) with Viv inlets and outlets and eBay 7.5” VRSF type intercooler. Also single walbro 450, 6HP auto with zhp stage 3. Catless downpipes and PE modded mufflers. New plugs, Eldor coils, NO port injection, NO Meth etc. stock intake manifold. Don’t even have a 3.5 bar tamp sensor!! 2008 335 xDrive on the v5 E40 OTS MHD tune. Car ran 1/4 mile of 10.61 seconds at 130mph verified on draggy!!! 2.86 0 to 60 on draggy no rollout also!! 45deg and DA of -640!!!! So perfect weather. There is NO weight reduction and daily driven commuter car (it’s my son’s car he commutes to college). Probably 4000lb with him in it. I let MHD know about the results and they basically said “Don’t run this tune with your setup, you will damage the engine”. So they don’t endorse this tune with 17t’s but it’s a KILL TUNE if your not worried about grenading the engine! Car still runs perfectly no issues so far!!!!

Great video. So, you guys are in Central Florida. Whereabout s in Mexico would you guys go to race these cars? On the West Coast ,where I live, Baja Calif. is the part of Mexico below us and over 1,000 miles south of where I live. I wouldn't know of any place South of the Mexican border where one could really let their high performance car unwind, nor is there any major tracks that I know of. And the roads are pretty bad in Baja California. Anyway, another awesome vid. Pretty much all the BMWs that would interest me are 3-Series and smaller, like what I've always seen in your vids.

Can someone explain to me how Aaly gets that high pitched turbo blow? I'm guessing it's just that specific turbo that allows it to have that sound. Also, what makes the difference between an expensive turbo kit vs the Chinese ebay turbos? Looking at Aaly's E90, it looks like it's throwing power down pretty reliably. 6 months of constant pulls from a set of turbos that's probably half or even 1/3 of the price of a brand name kit sounds really intriguing
