BMW 535i F10 N55 motor -Serpentine Belt Tensioner Replacement DIY video. These tensioners start knocking at about 60k miles. Parts about $250 USD. Here is the diagram:

Just changed the tensioner and the belt today. Thanks for the video. I routed the new belt before I installed the new tensioner. Took a little under 1.5 hours.

Thanks C.K, I just did this job today. One tip worth mentioning is when removing the original belt, use a small allen wrench to lock the tensioner closed so you can more easily maneuver the belt out.

Great video… i removed the tensioner pulley while the belt was on. The new tensioner pully came fully extended so i just installed it and released the tension.

C.K., I just did this job and I have to credit you with 2 videos in one. When you remove the fan, the hose to the radiator is accessible allowing you to drain the coolant. This is a belt and coolant replacement video. Double thanks!!!!!!

Thank you for the tutorial .The hardest part wast to figure out the way the belt goes and make last step,put it on generator wheel while holding tensioner up.

Just as its easier to start the belt removal process is to slip it off a smooth idler pulley, when putting the belt on, route it onto all of the pulleys with the grooves first and the last thing you slide it on to before giving it tension is a smooth idler pulley. Makes it a lot easier than struggling trying to pry it on

I don't know why your 2011 535i F10's Oil Filter housing unit looks way different than mine of the exact year and model.... Looks like yours is the earlier n55 engine model...

Just a tip. When removing the belt, you do not ever try to pull it off a grooved pulley. Especially one with a lip. Slide it off one of the smooth idler pulleys. It would have slipped right off very easily.

hi first of all thank you! But, I have to replace/rebuild the power steering pump / dynamic drive. And other "sources" said that one should remove the ac-compressor in order to remove it. Do you know if this is really necessary? thank you

i have no idea bud, but i would just locate the compressor and see how easy it is to access/remove.also, post on bimmerfest f10 forum, you might get a good answer.

no, just nasty clicking/ticking from the tensioner i never said belt needed to be replaced. but since you are already doing the work, might as well if you have extra cash. belt might have survived twice as long probably

@@yogi799 Turns out it was the belt tensioner! Replaced that, as well as the belt which shredded to strings. Looked like a tragedy, only turned out about $400 to the pockets in all. Sat in the garage all night and knocked it out - thanks man!

i just did it a t-60 doesnt go its a T-70 for a exactly fit t-60 your going to rub it im doing it now as we speak had ot go back to autozone

T-70 will absolutely not fit. T-60 is the correct size, at least on the N55 motors.
