Problem with diesels in india is you cant drive very fast for long periods due to traffic congestion and/poor roads... hence alot of carbon build up. If you drive it long distance at speeds of 40-50 mph it burns off some carbon build up. Use EGR cleaner spray to spray Into the intake on a regular basis

Absolutely. Getting ones BMW or any other high end car repaired or even properly maintained and more importantly honestly is tough. Rather impossible. In my opinion & personally rip offs & cheats. Maybe just my experience. Mechanics & people like you seem rare in India. Kudos.

Actually I found it cheaper and better to transport my BMW from Mumbai to Delhi (₹.15,000) to fix it😅. Next time I will send it to Rohtak!😊

Yes carbon build is present on the petrol engine but much less than a diesel

If the car was maintained by previous owner and had all maintenance items done periodically then yes you can drive it for a long time without any problems

Sir after purchasing second hand BMW ( keeping in mind it has already clocked more than 50K kilometres)how can we get our EGR and manifold checked and cleaned ?

You have to remove the throttle body and inspect the soot or carbon in the intake manifold and for egr you have to remove the egr valve

Hi Sunil,which one did you get then finally? I have a 2011 525d N57 6cyl from the last 3-4 months so I ll share some points..Its an experience in itself if you’re comfortable with the increased size..Mile muncher,much more comfortable than the 3..(My friend owns a 2017 330i..so that’s my reference point..) Fuel economy may be a a little lesser as compared to the younger sibling bearing the 2L Diesel..(I get around 11-12 kmpl in the city and around 17 on the highway with a little enthusiastic driving which is respectable keeping in mind the torque it offers.. Coming from a petrol 2003 C class and a current gen i20,burning diesel in this doesnt hurt the heart lmao xD Lastly,With the govt. regulations on diesels getting stricter day by day,its about time these cars will become irrelevant..So living for that one last pull ;) @thatbeamerguy ,Thanks for such valuable content,it increases end user knowledge and DIY culture..Also,I have to get my car checked by you..Will contact one of these days :)
