Here's how to repair an electric steering box for BMW if it has these noises during operation

All you needed was a T45 screwdriver and flat rod which could serve as a bar. This noise occurs when the belt is not properly tensioned. And this only way to tension the belt is by slacking the 3 bolts holding the Steering gear to the rack, then place your bar rod in between the rack and the gear. Push the gear outward so as to increase the belt tension, thereafter tighten the gear bolt. The noise would've been eliminated.

My 320i F30 2014 makes a noise very similar to this with the steering in full lock position on both sides, only in reverse. And it also happens, but with less noise, when making steep curves, for example in my garage.

Bună ziua! Am o problemă legată de caseta de direcție electrică la un f10. Aveam o bătaie măruntă care dispărea la strângerea tachetului împingător de pe clemarieră, am avut o tentativă de recondiționare care a eșuat, după care am cumpărat o casetă de direcție recondiționată din Polonia. După un an de zile a apărut și la această casetă acea bătaie. Este o problemă comună la casetele acestea sau am eu ghinion? Și există vreo soluție de rezolvare? Vă mulțumesc!

When I haven’t started my car in a couple hours the steering is completely normal but if I shut it off and turn it back on right away the steering light comes on the dash and it gets stiff and harder to turn but then I shut it again leave it for an hour turn the car back on and it’s gone again

Das Lager hat kein Spann- oder Spannsystem, es ist innen frei. Sie fügen die Kugeln einzeln wie im Video ein.

I have a 2011 BMW 535i, power steering is non existent. I guess I should replace the motor on the EPS?

There are at least 4 inputs that make the electric motor working: a 12 V cable (thick red), a ground cable (thick light brown), the flexray communication cable (below the power cables), and the steering torque sensor input cable (above the power cables, black). I was able to check all but the last one as normal. So, I'm still not sure if the EPS motor or the torque sensor input is out of order.

I am having the same problem, my EPS was submerged in water during a very heavy rainy day, first it stopped working, because the motor was full of water, we lowered the rack, cleaned the motor and it started to work without problems. but I am left with the same noise... seeing the comments there is one that says that the noise may be because the motor is not properly placed. Has anyone this worked? I'm still going to try both things, move the electric motor and if it doesn't improve, grease the bearing.

The problem may be from the balls of that bearing, to stretch the steering box belt rotate the eccentric of the bearing before mounting the cover.
