The size of the grille is not the issue, other manufactures do it as well. It's the fact that the grille goes upwards from the headlamps line, not downwards as it should. Ends up climbing on the bonnet

Well, the 7 series always was the luxury drivers car, while the S-Class always focussed on maximum passenger comfort. It's the same with the current models. If you want to drive by yourself, go for the 7. If you want to be driven by a chauffeur, go for the S-Class. I hope that it will stay that way, I like it when manufacturers have different approaches to get things done.

Exactly. At least you get it. That's part of the design motive. I loved it right off anyway - I've been wanting BMW to do something like this for years, something to really Stand Out and take to Mercedes. The previous cars had 0 character, totally bland and front ends looked like lizards (Mercedes no better really). This 7 is prime luxury

from the very beginning of this video I could sense your hatred towards BMW, and your favouritism towards Merc. And for the rest of the video we had to listen to you go on and on about how Merc is better than BMW, thats disappointing bcz we came here to learn about this new BMW. Its not uncommon for reviewere to compare rival cars, but they normally use statistics and facts, you were using personal bias in my view, saying things like: the Merc is just nicer, or the Merc has always been better, or such. Such continuous comparison of immeasurable preferences really ruins car reviews

After nothing but trouble with the S-class 2 in a row, 2006,2008 (Gear box mainly, lack of service and not honouring warranty) I went back to BMW 7-Series. I have had 4 in total and had one failure (water pump) which was promptly serviced. Never back to S Mercedes, I have learned my lesson and will stay with the BMW 7-Series.

Jamie Pickles the grille looks ridiculous on camera but when you see the car irl it looks much better especially if you get to used to it after a few hours we got 1 to replace our x5 for a couple of days beautiful car

I owned a BMW 520d and loved it: but I feel BMW are in a rut with their dashboard design. To me, the middle screen looks as if an iPad has been glued onto the facia as an afterthought. I just don't feel there is a wow factor. The infotainment system is brilliant; and I prefer the rotary dial to the Audi's touchscreen, but I feel that Audi dashboards are far more stylish. I would like to see BMW keep the rotary dial but follow Audi/Mercedes dashboard design cues.

BMV has always been a fun car to drive. The larger grill - its a love or dislike. Overall it is a beautiful car. I have a benz as well which is also a lovely car but when it comes to Driving, the Idrive and Nav system - BMV wins: For me. either car you cant go wrong. Nice review

I have the new 745e. And the fact that this car’s interior is dated detracts from the whole package which is still awesome. Hybrid only gives 18-21miles which is very poor. Otherwise, I’ll say again, it’s an awesome car.

I would go for the 7 serie istead of S class. I ve always liked bmw compact design. Performace wise bmw is also fun to drive. And finally i like bmw old school console. That being said the front grill is too big.

Love the facelifted 7. If it handles better than the S Class, and uses less fuel, I would forgive the aforementioned shortcomings. As for the ride, just increase the tyres profile James.
