BMW 7 Series E65 E66 760li 750li 745li 750i 745i 760i IVM Integrated Power Supply Module Replacement

The most common symptoms of BAD IVM, Integrated Power Supply Module on BMW 7 Series E65 E66 760li 750li 745li 750i 745i 760i are intermittent failures to start, no crank, The dash would light up but it wouldn't crank. Replacing the IVM usually remedies this issue if you do not have other deeper mechanical problems. This video will show you how the replace IVM in BMW 7 Series.

Thank you for this tutorial. I have replaced this is the past and yes I am doing it again. If you live in high humidity area, you would have to replace this often. IT is terrible how it can go bad very easily. Im putting in some salt packs to keep the box drier. But for sure buy a couple of these IVM from FCP Euro and save yourself from being stranded. Your description is spot on and they need to tell everything who owns these E65/E66 this is a common problem. All the lights I have on the dash stating transmission problem malfunction and it doesnt start gave me the indication it was a bad IVM again. Then I scanned the car and of course more modules were not communication, again validating the IVM module defectiveness. So installing another one today. Thanks again for making this detail video. Do not buy a couple. The whole point of the FCP euro warranty is that wearable parts when they fail can be returned for a full refund. Buy one at a time.

Do you need to re-program after installation? My 750li wont start & shows transmission fault error, but still starts up when i flully charge the battey. Also sometimes wont switch from park to neutral etc. Mechanic told me it was the BCM (body control module) this car has so many damn modules & abbreviations for them its confusing for a first timer like me. Also i hear when you change the battery you need to reprogram it as well. Could you tell me what needs to be reprogrammed & what doesn’t when is comes to changing modules? Help would be appreciated

It is not a Power module. The power module is located on the rear above the battery

Hi! Where exactly is the 2002 bmw 745i starter motor relay located? It is not in the motor control box. There are three relays behind the glove box, but none of them are.

My 750i likes to lunge at the stop light ill be sitting in drive at idle then it'll jump forward like the transmission and theres nothing wrong with my transmission as i did the fluid and filter change and it stayed the same

Hello. Thank you for the great video. I followed your steps and was able to replace my ivm module in my 2007 BMW 750Li. The car would start. I drive and stop. I come back to it and it will mot start. After pleading with it for like 20 minutes it will start. This went on intermittently for like 5 months. Then the car just would not start one afternoon. I had it jumped still did not help. Next morning it cranked but not start. I replaced the ivm module and it cranks powerfully but no start. What could be the issue. Please help.

Hi I have Bmw 745i E65 my car doing problem I turn on ignition .at the 5 minutes the spark coil gon very hot and burst and smoke. I pull out the canacter of IVM .the spark coil gon cool ignition is on . please give me salotion thanks.

2002 745li tonight I found out my secondary air pump works connected straight to a car battery but...when plugged into original plug 🔌 on car it doesn’t work...I checked Ivm fuse no. 9 for air injection and with the multimeter no power....do I have to replace whole ivm or just a fuse.....I frustrated to death??

it is plug and play IVM module so no need to worry. But you need to clear your old error codes in the car too

@GIDABO Auto Parts I have a BMW e66 730d, was working perfectly fine the next day I put the key on the dashboard press the start stop button my foot was on the brake pedal and it would not turn over or start, also all of my FM channels have gone and don't seem to be able to retune them, dashboard displays SOS call system failure!, And also safety system! With a logo in red of a man sat on a chair with a seatbelt on and a air bag in front of him, could this unit being faulty be responsible for all of these errors? The car will not start whatsoever, the battery is fully charged as well. Please help me asap

My car was parked in garage and was fine never any problems with transmission…next day I unlock doors and see RND flashing even before I can get in the car I put the key in and nothing no engine noise no crank no start just lights flashing. I disconnected the battery overnight next day car started right up drove that fine no issues parked it at night in the garage next day same thing RND flashing no start or crank again could this be a IVM issue ,alternator I’ve heard and actually transmission problems idk if I should go down this road as I just put $4500 in it on shocks,control arms, new battery,etc idk what to do this seems like the cheapest option

I believe you have a transmission issue. You could confirm using proper BMW scan tool. These symptoms manifest usually because of two reasons main reasons: one, low transmission fluid which you can confirm by looking at the transmission fluid level and if there’s a lot of leaks around the transmission pan. The second reason is internal leak due to bad valveVal body seals. please note these are the most common problems not the only problems. I highly recommend you get this diagnosed properly. You could try unplugging the comfort system in the trunk,,, a small white vented box... Then try to see if the key and car respond..

I'm sure you found your answer already but for others that may wonder, you only need to program when you put a new/different battery in. If you're just reconnecting the same one, no worries.

I have a 2006 bmw650i It wouldn’t crank or start so I put a new battery in it and the dash , radio and ac began to work but I only got one click when trying to start it , I then put a new starter into it and now it cranks wonderfully but it won’t start , I get a lot of clicks but it won’t start , I’ve had all the codes and system reset and battery registered but still it won’t start , could the IVM be the reason why ?

@@moneyman256 I have x5 35i 2011 with similar issue but did not get chance to check it. It can be the fuse box (whole unit)below the glove box too, or as I mentioned in above link it could be a broken soldering. Worst case scenario DME!!! These are just possibilities as everything depends on fault codes. Update me if I got anything work out
