BMW AC Microfilter replacement DIY- 5 Series F10

Hello Everyone, here is another DIY video for replacing AC microfilter for BMW 5 series F10 (535i or similar), actual job takes 10-15 mins tops and 10 mins after disconnecting the battery to have any residual charges dissipate (to avoid accidental knee airbag deployment)

Your car has no airbag in this location. That wiring is only powering the footwell light.

Yes both have arrows on them that should be pointing towards the passenger seat

This is unlikely to happen, codes are protected from that, the main reason you dc the battery is to avoid any accidental deployment of airbags while working

I'm just curious why the filters point toward the inside of the cabin. Does air actually flow into the cabin from the filter box after passing through the filters? If so, what about all the other air outlets that don't have any filtration? It also seems odd that two filters are required to do the same job, and if they have separate functions then would they still point the same way? Puzzing... Thank you!

Haha don’t bother urself much trying figure out german tech 🤪 They are exactly the same actually and no special marking which goes where, I believe its just for more efficiency given this is kinda the start of BMWs range luxurious executive sedans, also possibly have to do with profiting from consumables. Im also just speculating possibilities😁 Regarding the airflow direction, I didnt get why you think some outlets are independent from the filter, I believe all the air is filtered and all outlets get fed from that filtration unit, no way there is air directly coming without filtration, you would know believe me 😷

Nein, kein Mensch klemmt die Batterie ab um 2 Filter zu wechseln. Er sprach ja auch vom Airbagkabel. Ist falsch. Ist nur die Zuleitung für die Fussraumlampe.
