when the car have optical fiber cable, it need to move it to new harness, that is 100% to do it, nothing wrong, about the AUX connection, it also need to connect it, since the car is CIC, The sound distorted or volume is low, you can check the settings for it.

yes it support, you just go to android menu, click settings> camera selection, and choose "OEM camera", then will be fine.

I have a 2010 Audi A5 Cabriolet. My professional installer put it in a new Zlink Head Unit, but he could not get sound to come out of the speakers only the radio. Very good video sir. Very informative. I am struggling with my android head unit on my bmw e92 with ccc idrive. I did follow all the steps like connecting aux and moving fiber optic cable but the way I connected aux is I did Solder 2 aux cables together instead of connecting 2 aux cables (because i didnt have male and female endings to connect). I have no sound. Do you think its because i soldered aux instead of just connecting one end to another and then to aux port?

Since I don’t clear how you soldered it, but that might be a reason for the trouble; in normal situations, that is no need to modify the cables , when the car have original AUXILIARY, just connect the aux cable to it , then will be fine , maybe your car is special, or something that I don’t know. So, I don’t have good suggestions for you .

Hello, Great detailed Video. I have a 2010 BMW x5 with CIC. I've just installed a Android unit, but it looks like my OEM Aux port doesn't register I have a device plugged into it. My phone wont work through Aux either. is there another way to get sound. Does the Fiber cables do anything if the sound goes through Aux? Any ideas where to look my my OEM Aux problem? Your car , it need to move the optical fiber cable to new harness, also need to connect the aux cable , and choose “Aux “ in original menu before playing the music in android side ; if you recover back to original car system, when you plug the phone to aux ( choose Aux in original menu), , but it also not work , it mean your original aux do have some problems, the sound of head unit go through optical fiber & AUX .

Hi, my only frustration with your set up is the equaliser and sound settings are only are only accessible without any sound coming out of the speakers in the sub menu prior to entering android auto ( wired). I have a NBT system that I purchased 18 months ago. I noticed on the screen replacement solution with all the stuff built in this isn't the case? Is there a way around this? Am I able to ( pay if necessary) for the screen software, or has there been a firmware/software update since then that I have missed? Many thanks

The android music and CarPlay using the same audio channel, thus, you can see when playing music in android home menu and see if the music have sound or not , if that have sound , but CarPlay no sound , then check if your phone also connected to original Bluetooth or not , CarPlay is not allow to use Bluetooth at the same time . In fact, this video have mentioned these steps , you can watch it in details again . Or what you mean is : the CarPlay music is fine but when calling , no sound ?

Normally, CCC, CIC, it need to install the AUX cable , while most of NBT is no need , it can transfer the audio by big power cable ( internal switch), when installing it, it need to test the sound to decide to connect it or not , since that’s too much original radio types .

Hi there.. I have a 2011 e90 3 series. I had this installed by my car technician guy. The sounds work and connections are fine. However... At random times, i get absolutely no sound.. No radio and nothing from the same gps unit. I have the same one you have in this video. Once i turn off my car for 5-10mins, the sound comes back again. It never turns off on me when im listening to music. Only when my car is off and i ignite it, at a very random time the sound will be loss. Do you have any clue what could be wrong? Thanks

You can check : if your phone also connected to original car Bluetooth, if yes , disable the original car Bluetooth, the CarPlay is not allow to use Bluetooth at the same time . After that , choose “ AUX” then back to android CarPlay and play music

I have installed a CIC Android auto compatible with my bmw X1, when i use the radio and the gps since the screen of Android auto i have the sound without any issue. But when i use Carplay without Bluetooth and also connect my phone by only Bluetooth i have no sound, even if i play a KZbin video directly from my Android auto screen i have no sound. So, from your description: the Bluetooth, CarPlay, and video from android side are no sound; the USB you connected should be the OEM car . You can double check the connection as this video mentions, check step by steps.

Yes it is Android 12, after 3 seconds the sound stops, because the system is no longer in AUX Later Edit: it seems there was a setting in the android “panel shortcut memory key” on which you choose 8 - aux has to be set in the original interface to 8 panel key.

@@Pie4life123 pretty sure it’s because the Aux is already active when the HU initialises power, the HU then sends a small power pulse out the output hence the “thump” sound. Not ideal but I don’t think it can be avoided.

You can watch the video in details, watch the video to the end. First make sure the AUX well connection (2), choose AUX in original menu (3), check the settings (5), and check if the factory AUX work or not (7). If your car without a valid AUX-In, that is hard to handle it.

In AUX mode , not recommend set to too high volume level. Also, if our android model, it can go to factory set up menu, to set the microphone gain . Normally MIC gain set to 18~19 is enough; you can also connect the AUX cable to AUX jack and see if ok . Also can try to update the firmware.

I have a 2016 BMW F23 NBT system and I didn't have any optical wires OR needed to connect the AUX in the armrest, and the sound seems to be working OK... do some models of car not need to do either of these steps, or am I missing something?

NBT car types can switch the audio by internal ( the sound switch through the big power cable ), thus, some NBT car is ok not to connect the AUX cable, but you need to test the sound , if that is no sound , you still need to connect it; if the car have optical cable , move it , if no optical cable , then just plug the power cable , then will be fine .

What if you get very low quality audio ? Mine sounds bad I have to raise volume of car a lot just to hear it and it sound like it’s under water very unclear

i will try once again to get this crap working! been no sound for months tired of no sound.
