Why can’t more DIY videos be like this - simple, straight to the point (sigh)

7 years later and still useful. Why can't all the videos for fixing shit on my e92 be this clear and to the point?

Great video, helped a lot. At first i tried with a screwdriver and wasn't able to get into the space, then i bought a cheap small pry-bar which worked great. 1st one took 20 minutes, then the rest took 1 minute each to pop off and replace.

1.- Very good vid, well filmed and straight to the point! 2.- I'm wondering if a guy who designed this "thing" to lift a 1600-1700 kg vehicle ever finished the secondary school...

In addition, you should use the weight of the car to secure them in place by jacking each pad up after replacing them. Thanks for the video and link!

thanks for this, had car about a week never think to check for things like this ,mine are knackered so will be replacing them asap before i attempt to jack up the car

Excellent video, and a great service to your viewers. Thank you. Who are the lowlife trolls that actually dislike a video like this?

thx for the video. I have an e93, I bought the jack adapter for it but it is longer than the pad so there is slope in it. Do you know of a pad that is longer that will alleviate the wiggle between the pad and jack adapter?

This is the housing for the jack pad, not the pad itself, which is essential to avoid damaging the housing. You need to insert a correctly sized rubber pad into this housing to support the weight of the car when lifting. Not using the rubber pad inserted properly will lead to damage to this housing as it's not deigned to be load bearing.

For what is that jack?

good video, thanks, would be better without the music or just make music very low, barely audible would be nicer. Why dies BMW make the bmw and the mini cooper jack points out of plastic?

Is it possible to jack up your car without jack pads?
@MSUTri7 жыл бұрын
Joseph Mora Yes. If you're missing one or more of the jack pads, use a wood or rubber block in place to prevent damaging the jack pad mount.

These little bastards are notorious for creating wind rush noises at high speed if they are missing or damaged, both at the front and rear. All the while BMW will blame door seals, door alignment, wheels, tyres, brake and everything else they can to steal your cash.

Good video but who takes an older car to the ripping off dealership?
@JoseJJn3 жыл бұрын
Not only dealership but any other workshop or mechanic. If your jack pads are worn out, your side skirt will be damaged for sure...
