Thanks for sharing this video. I have a BMW 318 D M Sport (E90) and a few days ago the passenger door central locking stopped working. Just vibrates like a rattle snake but didn't pop up - was struggling. I followed your video and took the actuator out and then took it apart to examine. I found the culprit to be the large cog on the right as you look in the mechanism was snapped in two places, which meant no teeth of the cog in those areas were connecting. So, I have ordered a new cog and hope to install it on Monday. The fun part I suppose will be putting all this back together - but still, I have spent £20 and 2 hours of my time so far, which is a hell of a lot better than the £350 minimum I was quoted.

Thanks a lot for sharing your good work! I bought a repair kit from EBay, it worked but it took a lot of time. At the end locking and opening didn't work until I watched your video which is very well explained! Thanks a lot and many greetings from Germany Rainer

Oddly when I opened mine up I didn’t have the motor or wheel at the bottom, just curious if you know why that is. Anyway thank you so much for this tutorial this one saved me.

I think he said this was the actuator with the door lock (drivers side) perhaps the others, without the physical lock, are different?
