Now I have tested the car with remap about 1000km.... 286hp 600nm feels great!! Big difference! Fuel consumption. Mixed: 0.72 Motorway: 0.6 Caravan1500kg: 0.93 (was 1.3!!)

I guess it will fail the MOT whitout the "cat" due to bad exhaust fumes. It is very effective when the car has reached normal driving temperature. I guess the dpf takes care of those fumes when the car is cold, cause now I can smell some fumes when doing a cold start.

Did you have to recode anything after the delete? I have had my dpf cleaned several times and keep getting limp mode so gonna rip it all out

Smells a bit more, especially when it is cold. And when you accelerate hard it will be some black smoke

Hi thanks for the video, when cutting the dpf open it much be difficult not to cut the CAT slightly? Does it matter if it gets cut slightly when cutting the flap? Thanks

Dont go to deep, there is a layer of foam that holds the cat and dpf ...

What's the best option to do: 1. Cut DPF, remove content and weld it back (do remap) + (do Stage 1) 2. Remove DPF & CAT, install straight pipe insteed, remvoe EGR, (do remap) + (do Stage 1). Let me kwow as i have my exhaust out. What welder we should use to weld it back? I have one from lidl, is that good enough to weld DPF back? Cheers PS: what about MOT pass after 1 or 2 options???

I would do option 1, I do not think MOT approves option 2. It will be tricky with the lidl (stick welder?). I used a mig welder.

@@Pakko21Paj As long as the remap included stage 1 or 2, and DPF delete and decat it will not matter. But with both of them removed you will notice even more sound and get even more power :)

This must be for the 520d. The 535d is different. Gearbox is in way when removing dpf

I guess you will get some fault codes... I only drove it for about 2km whitout remap and didnt notice any problem

@@Pakko21Paj was there just a fault code? Like, the car is telling you something is wrong. Or was it in some sort of limp mode with reduced power? I'm thinking of doing a DPF delete this week, but I don't have money for a good remap until next month.

@@BEASTATGAMINGYO I didn´t get any fault code. Only a guess from me. But after thinking about it a bit more, I don´t think it will give you any fault codes. Removing the dpf "only" reduces the backpressure...

hi man, i am looking forward to remove dpf completely and use down pipe instead, but i would need to get the dpf back on every 2 years for inspection, so i am thinking that i will need a ecu remap to remove dpf sensors, but will the car work normally with dpf back and with down pipe tune? it will need to run just few kilometers to get it inspected. i am aware that it would light some errors and car will not pass

I dont know, but my guess is that it will not be a problem. You will lose some horsepower due to the resistance when the dpf is back and it may be best not to put the pedal to the metal during that time... =)

Did you have any difficulty getting the DPF past the engine/sub frame? Some people have had to move the steering rack out of the way.

No it was easy, I didn´t remove the steering rack. =)

If its right hand drive you need to disconnect and slide the steering column up from the rack and I also had to lower the subframe slightly to get the DPF down, a complete pain in the arse of a job. LHD cars don't have this problem

tom ingleton I wouldn't go near it unless you have a ramp and someone to give you a hand. Even with everything loose I had to lever the gearbox over whilst someone else pulled it out. Never again, best part of 4 hours to get the feckin thing off

I spent ages trying to get mine out on my e61 even slacking of the subframe and steering rack wish I could get it out sick of seeing the dpf light everytime I drive it 😒

Great video, thanks. Can I ask if you get any droning at certain speeds? I did this on a Merc and at 80mph/130kmph it had a nasty drone where the empty chamber resonated.

I want remove both DPF and catalic, but i want to leave the empy tank for technical inspection, and i want to avoid additional louder sound after removal. Is it possible to leave the empy tank and inside the empty tank weld straight pipes ? I think the louder sound is because you leave empty tank. Straight pipes should resolve this problem or not ?

@@zdrgdr a dpf delete is where you either put a straight pipe where the dpf is supposed to be or but the dpf. The dpf actually muffles the sound alot , like alot. Regardless of stock exhaust it will be noticeably louder and you will hear the turbo wooing aswell

It is the catalytic converter. I guess that it will be some trouble with MOT test if you remove it, but I dont know for sure

Absolute ballache removing the dpf. Now i know why he done picture slides instead of a video. Gearbox needs lowering and pushed to the side. And its still a C***

The exhaust will flow much easier through the system whitout the dpf so you gain alot of efficiency with a remap and it will throw some pressure related fault codes to I guess =)

You are misleading. You cut out the catalytic converter, not the DPF 🤣 The DPF looks different and is further down the exhaust.

No, this is the DPF. Only the early model M57's have DPF's further back on the exhaust system.
