BMW E28 520i, Autobahn (short)

Ein sehr tolles Video von dein E28. Da sieht man wieder M20 Motor mit nur 125 PS knapp auf 190 Stundenkilometer kommt beachtlich und das für einen 30 Jahre alten Wagen. Ich selber fahre auch einen 525 ETA, der macht auch richtig Spaß und esst manche neuen Autos richtig doof aus der Röhre gucken. Nur typische Kinderkrankheit ist immer der Tacho der mal so ein Eigenleben entwickelt fällt vom Drehzahlmesser an bis zum Geschwindigkeitsmesser aber bleibt nicht aus wenn man es weiß macht dieses Auto trotzdem sehr viel Spaß weiter so und ich hoffe ich sehe noch mehr schöne Videos. 24/7 Videos Zeer goed, maar men moet tegenwoordig goede aandacht besteden aan onderhoud. Als je hem eenmaal op orde hebt is het een fantastische wagen. 19 year slumber! Great! I have an offer of an 520i e28 which sat outside pretty long. How would you rate these engines? Are they though? thanks and have fun!

+kilasracingfactory Outside pretty long? Hopefully underneath a cover or something! Ours sat inside a dry shed, luckily. Anyway, that shouldn't matter too much for the engine, just be careful with any rust. The engines are pretty much very strong, except for the M5 engine which is sensitive to inappropriate use / abuse. But the M20B20 is pretty good. Replace the filters and oils, give it fresh fuel (preferably super unleaded), drive it carefully, and when it's warmed up, start building up the RPMs (go a little faster each time). You'll probably notice it getting more supple and eager, which is awesome. Every time you drive, you should let it warm up carefully, and it'll probably be indestructible then. Also, be prepared to replace the fuel and vacuum hoses leading into the engine, those can have little (invisible) leaks which will affect how your engine runs. Hoses for the coolant are also vital. In short, take some time getting the engine back up to speed, and then it will last ages with proper use ;) it's a joy, every day.
