BMW E36 M3: New Fuel Pump & Draining the Fuel Tank

Today, we have a long episode; I go through the entire process (mistakes included) of changing the fuel pump and draining/cleaning out the fuel tank. This is by far the most distressing fuel pump and the dirtiest fuel tank I have ever seen. In the next episode, I will be showing the easiest way to change the crank position sensor. I know it's an old video but that dirt is from your shop vac filter. You're supposed to remove it when vacuuming liquids.

Did you replace the lines from the sender unit to fuel pump ? Mine were worn out and I’m trying to avoid dropping the tank but the originals are wedged into the hose clamps under the frame and I can’t seems to pull out the originals without dropping the tank . Thought about running them above the seat frame but idk if that’s a good idea . Also I just changed the fuel pump on my Jaguar xj6 and thought about draining the tank with a shop vac but was scared it would catch on fire ! How did you do it ?

Anyone know what the plastic white thing on the bottom of the tank was???
