Hi friend. My engine is 2.9 m50. 140mm rods 86mm pistons. M54 47.7 intake camshaft and m50nv intake camshaft combination. Ms41. Lightweight flywheel. Electric cooling system. Power 250hp. How did you manage to 344hp.

a 350hp turbo m50 is far more reliable than a 350hp N/A one.

@@TalkSteer You have to rev the engine so high to get 350hp out of it N/A + very high compression ratios. Because it revs so high you need to use very stiff valve springs and that puts more stress on the valvetrain also. The rod bearings on S50 racing engines here last about 600km of racing use. To get 350hp with a turbo you only need to change the headgasket and headstuds and thats it. It should reach 350hp even with pretty low boost. But a 350hp na engine is much more reliable than a 800hp turbo one though.

@@jamppa4693 interesting point of view. Consider that there are high performance vehicles that are all natty from factory that can pull way above 350.. I think in this case let's say it depends on the vehicle in question. Some NA can produce high-quality and reliable power off a worked motor. But some unfortunately need a blower or two to achieve.

Great job with that car!! i also own an e36 325i non-vanos, is it possible to reach that performance with a non-vanos? Or is the vanos important? i wanted to keep street legal if i reach at least 280hp its enough and ill be happy

@@charlieward7606 It’s measuring torque at the wheels and it can then calculate estimated flywheel hp. Yeah, it can display both, but the video shows the car on a chassis dyno and the vid description shows the numbers. It is possible that the engine was tuned on a stand / engine dyno, so my snarky comment a year ago absolutely deserves some kind of disagreement. But given how spicy this car looks on the launch, I don’t doubt 340whp from a near 3L engine with serious engine speed (8500 rippems).
