Bought my first E36 last year and it has been the best decision I've ever made regarding cars. Plus, the car is literally the same age as me ('93 325i), so that's a plus in my book! But for 21 years and four owners later, regardless of all the car has been through, it has proven to be very reliable and it sounds amazing for stock exhaust. Kudos BMW on designing such a wonderful piece of machine! Looks gorgeous.. Just the right amount of performance, handling, reliability, features, etc. Plan to keep this car for years to come..

I own my e36 316i for last 10 years. I Maintain this car as it should be I drive only on V-power fuel and use only genuine BMW Parts (except few which were really expensive) Use only recommended oils by BMW. I was driving this car across Europe, trips 1800 kms were very often. And this car never let me down. I have changed almost all front suspension, some equipment of the engine such us water pump, belts some bearings has been changed. Still original alternator and some parts. gear box engine and diff works perfectly up to date. It is hard to believe but engine has not been opened except some gaskets (still original head gasket). It has 267 k KM but clock was turned back before I bought this car from car trader. I still drive it and want to see when engine will die just for my experience :) I don't see any signals that this time is coming - still strong as it was when I bough it :D

@tachi20310 жыл бұрын
Caleb Clemens Umm I own a m50b25 e36 325i aswell....... It's still false advertising... So whats your point again?
@bellumpullum973410 жыл бұрын
You said he lied about the motor. It is a very solid motor (Better than the Honda or Japanese motors for that matter, in part because of the timing chain). You said he "Lied" I was just pointing out that while he technically didn't lie, he avoided telling us about the other defects of the car (Radiator hose, and the substructure defaults) but other than that I'm loving this car. I hope you didn't take what I said as an insult to you, I'm not trying to argue with you, I was just pointing out why I like the car, and what he should've said to be more informative.
@tachi20310 жыл бұрын
Caleb Clemens There's no doubt it's a good engine over all(When stacked up against much worse ones)... Minus the plastic waterpumps...Plastic/alu radiators... Hoses...Brake lines...VANOS seals....Poorly designed lifters...And shitty electrical wiring. All this is of course, fixable and upgradeable in this day n age with far superior parts. But at that time... When you say a engine is "near zero maintenance".... You have to take everything about that engine into account. And with hindsight, it is just a fact to say that they lied. Purposefully being obscure is still false advertising. I would potentialy say the japanese 6 cyclinder RB skyline engines were more reliable in the long run(And cheaper to maintain, with roughly the same amount of maintenance).
@bellumpullum973410 жыл бұрын
tachi203 True I didn't take into account the old equipment and repairs and such. And yes I guess it could be called lying, but to me he was just avoiding the important (Fix it when you get it) details.

Also, you people saying "6 cylinder 325i" act as if a 325i ever had a different engine. 3 series, 2.5L, which is where the 325 comes from. The 2.5 is a 6 cylinder and the "i' comes from being injected.

Padded door interiors thicker Carpet and Upolstry and softer less shinney better textured plastics?! I own a 1994 325i and in some ways it feels like a "Snap Tit" Kiddy Model--down to the removable plastic body trim where you can literally remove and replace by pulling and popping out pieces...Nice looking car and drives well, just curious?
