I want to get a W140 S-Class, but the E38 and W140 S-Class represent where peak quality, comfort, and design were reached. These two models were the highest level of engineering and design for both companies

the best 7 series ever. and none other is even close. big cars today a huge clunky and ugly. a far cry from the elegance that the E38 had. this car is almost too perfect to be true. and on the inside the aesthetic continues with a nice dash that is centered on the driver. back then even the 7 series was driver focused. i will gladly give up a myriad of screens and assistance systems in modern 7 series simply to look this elegant and distinguished when i arrive somewhere.

Back when "German engineering" actually meant pure engineering w/o compromise. Now its German engineering paired with a (un)healthy dose of bean counting, profit margins and divisive trendy looks.
