Ryan, I watch every video you make, no matter what it is about. You are a very fine teacher and I always learn something that I can apply to taking care of my own 540i. I’m glad that posting periodic videos is still a priority for you.

Thanks so much for this comment! Ideally I aim to post at least one video a month, but I've found that the shop gets slammed from Spring-Fall which really cuts down on available time. Plenty of content still to come!

Ryan, you are a time machine! You took us back to the period of 1997-2003. Excellent idea of restoration, it gives extra value to the car. I wish i could afford the cost, mine 525i needs this.

Hi Sir. Thank you for such a resourceful channel. A library in my opinion, deserving of a reference shelve in the automotive library....have two of these E39's, and am not lost restoring the second one...success with the first 👌👏👏...thanks to your tutorials! Please share the supplier's of the boot carpet. Would.like to order some as well. Sonny, South Africa 🇿🇦

Ryan hi from sunny Kazakhstan, I use google translator sorry. I drive the e39 528i. I love my car. I try to make it better, I invest a lot of money, because Kazakhstan has a different salary and standard of living than in USA. some of the spare parts that you change are very appreciated here in Kazakhstan, even used ones, because you often have to install used, not new spare parts. In the USA, you can afford to buy new spare parts and it's cool and look at it like drinking divine nectar! Thanks for your videos! someday I will have new spare parts in my BMW)

Did you get the paint and manure, haha! Caught me off guard there for a minute, LOL. I appreciate you showing the measurements on the white board of the holes to cut, my OCD appreciates it and you. Is this the 540 you restored a year or so ago? It was outside and full of leaves/pine needles, if I remember correctly. If so, it looks great. Thanks Ryan and cheers!

Ryan, what's your lead time for new customers? Also do you support only e39s or do you support e46 and e38 as well?
@E39SourceАй бұрын
Hi there! Our service lead time depends on the services requested. Generally speaking, we're ~2-4 week out right now. We are proud to service for the E39, E38, E46, E53, E60, E9x, and various other BMW models from the 1990s-2010s.

May have missed it but did you catch the prod date on any of those parts? Wondering if they’re recent or still just going through what’s left from production. My new M5 grilles from FCP were surprisingly 2003 production so seems there’s a lot of production era parts out there still.
@E39SourceАй бұрын
Many of these items didn't have production dates that I could find on them, but I got the idea based off of the packaging and stickers that these were mostly original production-era parts. I wouldn't expect BMW to ever manufacture any of these items again.

@@E39Source hey Ryan, I am looking to refresh the trunk in my 2000 M5 which is in rough shape. I went at my local BMW dealership with all the part numbers for the carpeting but I was told they were all NLA and nothing was left in stock anywhere. May I ask you where have you guys managed to find this stuff? I am based in the EU where, quite ironically too I'd say, availability for parts looks to be much scarcer than over the pond. Boy if we had ECS, Bimmerworld and their likes over here.
@E39SourceАй бұрын
@@pincophr1393 The M5 trunk carpet trims are different from the 540i. In fact, I think every piece minus the trunk lid interior and DSP box cover are different. I'd let them check their system for the correct numbers. I purchased a new trunk interior set for my M5 as well (about 3 months ago) and had no problem sourcing the parts.
@pincophr1393Ай бұрын
@@E39Source I went in there with all the correct part numbers for my car. I had entered my VIN in ReaOEM to get them. But I was told what I was told. That's why I asked if you had a particular source because you seem to find everything for these cars.
@E39SourceАй бұрын
@@pincophr1393 I find it hard to believe that I received the last available parts for each piece, but it's possible. You're certain you didn't select the part numbers for the Alcantara trunk interior?

Ryan... as ECS Tuning says N/A for 51478159475, 51478159476, 51478159474, 51478211952, and 61136907370 who did you use to order these from Europe?? My M5 trunk does need a refresh... perfect timing for the video! Great job. PS: You can use the scissor jack to hold the DSP up while you position it. I screwed a 18"x12" piece pf plywood to the jack to better support the DSP... worked great... used a cordless drill to run the jack up and down as needed.
@E39SourceАй бұрын
ECS Tuning's NLA flag is often incorrect. I ordered the parts through my local BMW dealership and received all of them within 21 days. I imagine you can contact ECS and ask them to update (correct) the status for these parts. I could have used something to hold it, but I'd rather just wrestle with it for a few minutes.
