BMW E46 323ci Drift Build | Ep 5 - Muffler delete with 3 inch exhaust pipe

In this vid I delete the rear muffler and replace it with a 3 inch piece of pipe. I re-use both original hanger points to support the new 3 inch piece of pipe.
Any constructive feedback, ideas and mods for these cars would be muchly appreciated.

Low torque is weak after remove.. better make straight pipe all the way from motor and tune ecu

What material piping is this? Did you have a resonator delete done aswell or just rear muffler?

It's just standard steel exhaust pipe, but it's coated in some sort of silver exhaust paint. No resonator delete, just muffler.

Is it worth it to add a cutout valve on a e46 1.8 engine? Like would it sound heavy and good? They say chip tuning is worthless on these engines and i'm clueless what to do.

hey bro yes it does! i have a single pipe but dual sounds much deeper . single is for loudness and kinda gives a higher note than dual tips.

no, there are two pipes running out the back. I'm working on mine and those are two 2-1/8" pipes. I'm going to go get a couple of 2-1/4 to slide over and weld.

Take that back, they 2-1/4" was too big. Get a caliper gauge and check the size. Will make life easier and your welds much cleaner.
