BMW e46 325i Test Drive

I upload this testvideo of my new Camera setup for car videos. Please comment what you think about this new pov.
I use the GoPro headband and the Go Pro hero4 silver for recording
About the Sound: i used a closed housing in this video. i noticed that the sound is low. so i bought a new open housing, may be i also buy an external microphone if the open housing is not good enough.

Tino Schwerdtner - I just bought a 2003 325i ( silver with only 100k miles - obviously needed a water pump and thermostat at that 100k mark ). Love the car. Getting some exhaust work done to it. ( Resonator delete with aftermarket vortex muffler ). The car handles great. It may be a 2003, but it was advanced for it's time!

I bought mine in mid 2015 and paid around €2.5k in maintenance. Insurance is another €800 for me here. Had to swap the water pump, some belts, jockey pulleys, oil change, brake pads and discs. It's a fine car but a 2.5l 6-cylinder engine is far from cheap to maintain. Ca. 100.000 miles on it. Have some spare cash ready. On the other hand, these parts would not be much cheaper in some other 2002 car, like a golf or so. I just had it done in a shop which is expensive because I know too little to screw around the brakes of my daily driver.

Well if i were not able to do some repairs myself.. yes it would have been expensiv. i didnt check my car good enough befor i bought it. Search on google "oil housing gasket 325i e46".. i did that myself, took me an half day to do it. that would have been expensiv. I also changed the cylinder head gasket and breaks.

Really fun car to drive but around 150k miles you’ll have to replace the valve cover gasket, fuel pump, alternator, and maybe even the battery all around the same time so do lots of preventative maintenance to keep it running at 100 But still parts are stupid expensive well the oem at least

I know it is a bit late but you are prob. Talking about the smg trans, that has some problems, but the thing is that parts are not cheap when they break. But the manual is pretty reliable mine never had any issue(2001, 325i)

Hi Daniel, ich habe mich auch bewusst für den e46 entschieden. Das Fahrgefühl ist einfach anders als bei neuen Autos. Letzten hatte ich erst einen Golf um zu einem Kunden zu fahren... Da merkt man den unterschied extrem. Beim e46 merkt man noch richtig, das da ein Auto bewegt wird.. Bei dem Golf kannst du auch ein Rennspiel am PC mit Lenkrad spielen, haste wahrscheinlich sogar noch mehr Rückmeldung durch die Vibrationsfunktion^^ Vorteil ist auch, du kannst da noch leicht selber daran schrauben, was ja auch spaß machen kann:) Gruß Martin

Hi, wie bist du zur Arbeit gekommen, als du die Zylinderkopfdichtungen bzw Bremsen gewechselt hast? Mietwagen? Fahrrad :P? Hat das innerhalb eines Abends geklappt mit dem wechseln, oder stand der Wagen mehrere Tage still? Ich wäre halt selber bald in der Situation einen e46 zu besitzen und wollte mich schonmal auf eventuelle Standtage, in denen ich mich selber schraubertechnisch um den Wagen kpmmere einstellen :D

+IIXMCMXCI V Oh hab ich irgendwo Zylinderkopfdichtung geschrieben? ^^ Die hab ich noch nicht getauscht. Ich habe die Ventildeckeldichtung getauscht. die VDD und bremsen geht ja noch recht schnell, hab immer ein Samstag dafür geopfert. Ölfiltergehäusedichtung hat sehr lange gedauert (ca. 6 Stunden) - da muss man ja Lichtmaschine etc ausbauen. Habs aber auch an einem Samstag geschafft. For a first car you don't want a super fast car (M3's have alot of power). I see guys with their first car go buy or finance something fast and have no money and crash it few weeks later. Just get a 3-Series Beemer. Personally I like the 325i E46

If u want all that torque and power u should buy xdrive. Of course u can buy RWD only but if u you push it hard u should know the rwd car with that power and touraq can be driftly.If u dont like have all atention on the back of car u and push it hard u shuld buy xdrive. In e46 is really nice DSC system but it can`t trick physic. But if you want drive normal in your condostion or mby a little bit faster that system keep it straight. And e46 have a really nice weight

+Sergio Cortes Depends on condition of the car. If its good then I say its moderate if you are careful and preservative. But if you are aggressive then maintenance in factory standard is expensive. Look at the spare parts prices on the internet shops. I have 320i - fuel consumption average from 10000km is 9,4l/100km you have 325i on the movie above so i think is little higher ~10,7l/100km Good tires coz its RWD, insurance, oil and filters change at 15k km, occasional 500-1000$/year repairs to maintenance in the factory state. If you know how big is your annual milage you can calculate easily average monthly cost. PS premium tires last about 30-60k km on rear wheels depends on you driving style.

+josue rodriguez i love my e46! its so much fun to drive. A big difference to my previous Ford Mondeo. well the bmw has 192+hp and the mondeo had 88+hp^^... My mileage is 229000km now and it still drives good. the condition of the car is all that matters, a car with 70k km can have a worse condition then the car with 200k km. And you have to consider, after so many years why does it have less then 20k km/year? always at the dealer because of Problems? ^^ hope you understand what i mean :) just google "common problems/ oil leaks bmw e46" and check the points when you find a nice Car... If the Price is good or bad i cant say, i bought mine for 4300€(!) with good condition and nice extras in Germany. If thats too much in your Country i cant say.

+MMCarMania that car is pretty clean and I've loved BMWs since I can remember, they're such beautifully designed cars so even if it's not an m3 or anything I'd like to own one to get a feel for the future and what it's like to deal w/ one. $3300 seems steep because of Kelly Blue Book and how they value cars but the car is extremely clean inside & out. I guess the only way is to know is to check it out, either way I appreciate the reply!! Thank you homie
