It's encouraging to see that people have working E46s with even higher mileage than mine.

I chuckled when you said that maybe nipple is a bad word. Here in Canada it is not. Thanks for the video. I am doing this job today

Hi BimmerZen, thanks for all your great detail video on N42 engine. Really appreciate it as the video for this engine is really rare in yt. Im currently looking for diy video to change brake booster in n42 engine (which co-locate with the abs pump) but cant find it anywhere. Would really appreciate if you could make us a video on this. Thanks. Greetings from Indonesia

Other side of the plastic part broke due to being old and brittle . Do you know if they sell the other end of the sensor cable and how hard it would be to hook up? Or do you recommend just brake the remaining plastic part and solder wires together and tape it to lock into the plastic cabinet?

Thanks, I was trying to confirm the orientation and this helped. But I do have a comment, the reason your original wear sensor was faulty was because it was plugged in wrong. Look at your video at 1:15 , if you look closely and then compare it with 6:19 when you plugged in the new sensor correctly, you see that the original was in backwards.

I don't think so. Previous sensor was installed correctly. You can see this when I pull it out. It had bad wires so the ECU detected it as "triggered" and that's why the light was on.

so if i were to just permanently keep the wires soldered together on the sensor, I would never have the brake light issue?
